Is Greta Van Sustern Stalking The Palin Family?

She does these weird “interviews” where she hangs out in the Palin kitchen, and now she escorts Todd Palin to the White House correspondent’s dinner and acts as his handler. Is she stalking them, is it part of a scientology ritual, or just a weird tv host?

Maybe the Alaskan secessionist movement is looking for a new spokesperson and this is her tryout.

  2. Jay Tea says:

Personally, I suspect she’s only doing it to make Andrew Sullivan jealous. If there is one person who is entitled to stalk the Palins, it’s Sullivan.

  3. calling all toasters says:

Her husband is/was an advisor to La Palin, and Greta’s the publicity flak. I guess they see her as their ticket to the top.

J.G.Thayer: “Personally, I suspect she’s only doing it to make Andrew Sullivan jealous. If there is one person who is entitled to stalk the Palins, it’s Sullivan.”

I would translate this as, ‘LOOK OVER THERE!’ but there’s not even a there to look over two.

As Calling All Toasters pointed out, there’s a real conflict of interest here that should be discussed. Not whatever the hell Mr. Thayer is babbling about.

  5. El Cid says:

I like the Scientology suggestion. Mainly because it would offer a way for Sarah Palin, should she go down that path, to get even weirder. The entertainment value would be great.

  6. calling all toasters says:

    El Cid–

Narcissists as extreme as Palin don’t join cults, they start them.

  7. justadood says:

c-a-t….the cult’s already there, you’re just seeing the next generation leadership starting to gel.
Conservatives like van Susteren and the Palins are all part of the same gene pool, so relationships that seem incestuous on their faces may be, in actuality.

My only concern, for which I remain vigilant, is that the freakshow is one *well-armed* freakshow….try not to be the one that sets match to the fuse before we sane ones can get them pointing their guns at each other—must minimize casualties, no?

When Van Susteren did her interview in Palin’s kitchen, there was another news organization waiting in the Palin home to have their turn to interview Governor Palin. (Can’t recall if it was People or the Anchorage Daily News.) Are they also “weird”? Don’t you wish to question their religion, too?

Did you know that the Politico reporter at the WHCD walked up to Todd Palin with a pencil and a pad of paper to interview him? It was a dinner, not a news conference, and Todd Palin isn’t running for any office.

Were all of the other journalists at the WHCD who sponsored guests called “handlers”?

I am convinced that Leftists have no use for facts at all and constantly participate in these double standards simply for the sake of destroying people they disagree with………and their families right along with them.

    Lemonade anyone?

No, just the ones who acted like handlers, aka “minders.”

    And then there’s this:

    How ’bout them genuine facts?

  12. El Cid says:

Don’t you wish to question their religion, too?

I certainly don’t want to “question” scientology in any way; as ridiculous as most religions are, scientology is even sillier. Sea Org. Thetans. Xenu. Get the f*** out.

I see Oliver is still doing real cutting edge journalism.

What’s wrong, Oliver? No time for stories like Obama’s bungling of the Chrysler bankruptcy (threatening bond holders and screwing them out of their investments while moving the UAW to the head of the payout line) or Obama’s threats to withhold stimulus money from CA unless they restore $2/hour paycuts to SEIU workers (as requested by the union). How about the fact that the Obama White House now admits that there will be no jobs saved or created in 2009 (after several consecutive quarters of increasing unemployment) despite Obama’s boasts to the contrary? Or that the CBO now says that the Obama stimulus bill and budget will result in even higher (50% higher) deficits than originally forecast?

When are you and other liberals going to stop stalking the Palin family and Joe the Plumber and start holding YOUR party’s President and Congress accountable for the long term financial damage that they are doing to this country?

    I’m not holding my breath.

  14. Dave in SoCal says:

    How ’bout them genuine facts?

And by “facts” you mean a bullshit article that doesn’t even attempt to refute or even address Van Sustern’s statements why she intervened with the Politico reporter (i.e. he was her guest, she wasn’t his handler) other than saying “Whoa, she sounds defensive!”. Although it does try the “But Bill O’Reilly did it!” misdirection.

I keep forgetting that “facts” don’t have the same meaning to the reality-based community as they do to those of us in the real world.

Oh and I just love the update: “UPDATE: And, of course, Greta Van Susteren’s husband is a Palin advisor. She must have just forgotten to mention that.”

My Gosh! Her husband is a Palin advisor? Then that PROVES that Greta is his handler. I mean, what more proof would you need? Just like the fact that Obama got his political start in Bill Ayers living room PROVES that Obama is a socialist like Ayers. Or the fact that Michelle Obama saw her salary triple after Senator Obama steered millions in federal money to her employer PROVES that this was a “pay for play” backroom deal.

  15. ed says:

Although it does try the “But Bill O’Reilly did it!” misdirection.

I’m pretty sure Ms. Van Sustern and Mr. O’Reilly are on the same network.

My Gosh! Her husband is a Palin advisor? Then that PROVES that Greta is his handler.

Well, that and her acting as a handler (minder). It also ought to at least raise a few eyebrows.

But nice try, Sparky. Maybe next time. Keep on keepin’ on defendin’ your dumbfuck party leaders Palin and The Plumber.

  16. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Dave in SoCal: “What’s wrong, Oliver? No time for stories like Obama’s…”

    Translation: “LOOK OVER THERE!”

How’s this for an idea. Don’t like what topics Oliver chooses? Fuck off and start your own blog.

Too hard for you to do? Don’t care.

  17. daniel rotter says:

    Are they also “weird”?

Well, you (Lisa Grass) certainly are for a. viewing People magazine as a “news organization” and b. seeming to believe that news organizations, as opposed to individuals, have “religions” (”Don’t you wish to question their religion, too?”).

  18. John says:

    What, Greta can’t have friends?????

  19. C.S.Strowbridge says:

John: “What, Greta can’t have friends?????”

“Reporters don’t have friends. They have sources.”

    On a serious, non-movie quoting point…

She can have as many friends as she wants. However, when she starts interviewing these friends as part of her job, we get to question her objectivity.
