Feherty says he’s never met a soldier who didn’t love his President and his country. Strangely, I have met soldiers who didn’t love Bush and some who didn’t love Obama, and I’m sure I have much less experience with people in uniform than he does.
First Amendment only protects his right to say stupid things. Not to be protected from being fired for saying stupid things. He can join 1LT Dan Choi in the unemployment line.
No! We are already living under the rule of an usurping imposter socialist. How much more should we have to put up with? Our nation is going down the tubes!!!!~
Funny, Feherty also said he believed in the death penalty for pro-lifers, child molesters, those opposed to gay marriage, and for stupid dancing in the end zone too. Curiously, the Media Matters staff isn’t feigning indignation at that little piece of poetic license taken by Feherty?
Evidently MM feels someone needs to stand up for Nancy Pelosi today, the lying little twit.
Here’s the thing: Feherty is projecting, and by extension, slandering.
If he’d said “Boy, I’d love to shoot Nancy Pelosi twice and then strangle Reid and bin Laden,” well, sure, despite a minor breach of Secret Service alert boundaries, nothing big here.
Instead, he proclaims that the United States military is 100% comprised of soldiers who need only the opportunity and ammunition, because their motivation would be obvious.
Which is slander, even if hyperbole. If Feherty had any balls, he’d have just said he wanted to do it himself.
So the murderous right wing extremist Michael Savage who advocated killing “100 million” Muslims should be allowed his vacation in Britain?
But a murderous joker should lose his JOB?
I know that most people associate “censorship” exclusively with “government.”
I don’t.
“Censorship” is just as effectively done by a corporation.
“Censorship” can be very real to someone who relies on someone else for a paycheck and doesn’t have any real options or legal protections. Corporations rely on their power as employers to effectively “censor” anyone that says the word “union” by simply firing them. Even when there are laws against it they are almost always easily circumvented.
Most corporations can fire at will and many employers really aren’t in a place to fight such terminations.
I’m not against this guy losing his job for spouting murderous jokes.
But taking away a persons livelihood for “freedom of expression” seems far more serious than a sovereign foreign nation denying a vacationer entry based on “freedom of expression.”
Making the defense that one is a private corporation and the other a government doesn’t make the “censorship” of “freedom of expression” any less real.
Losing one’s job is far more serious than being denied a vacation in Britain.
But taking away a persons livelihood for “freedom of expression” seems far more serious than a sovereign foreign nation denying a vacationer entry based on “freedom of expression.”
If its the government doing the taking away yes, if a private corporation? No.
feherty defending bush? that’s not funny at all, living in the golf bubble of staunch republicans that don’t think much beyond knowing that they want to keep their money doesn’t exactly qualify you as a political expert, feherty should stick to yucking it up with Gary McCord et al and keep his irrational right wing musings to himself and his fellow intellectual lightweights
Even more to the point, he doesn’t have a legal right to work for CBS, especially as a spokesman.
If CBS decides it doesn’t want to pay this asshole to speak on their airwaves, then that’s their business entirely.
And if enough people tell CBS that they don’t want to do anything that could be construed as supporting this asshole, then CBS has not only the right, but the fiduciary responsibility to their stockholders to get rid of him.
On the other hand, the government has no business whatsoever in deciding whether or not he should continue in his job. And anyone in the government who tries to make it their business needs to be fired from THEIR job.
One does have to wonder however, why the selective outrage. People are bursting blood vessels over his comments about Pelosi and Reid, but apparently supporting putting to death those who oppose gay marriage and are pro-life seems to be no big deal.
Unfortunately, I see this is as ideological posturing. If the paragraph about Pelosi were not there, the comments about killing off pro-lifers and those opposed to gay marriage would have gone virtually ignored. If the comments were made about Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell it would have been just the opposite.
This was an attempt at humor. An extremely POOR attempt (if I’m not mistaken, what he said was an offshoot of an old lawyer joke) at that, but I’m getting a good laugh at all of the idiots claiming the should be arrested and charged with a crime.
the government has no business whatsoever in deciding whether or not he should continue in his job.
I must have missed that. Who in the government tried to get him fired? I agree with you on this point, but if the government ISN’T trying to get him fired, why bother saying it?
At the same time, if the station DOESN’T fire this fool, they deserve every bit of the contempt they will get from the general public for hiring such a moron in th3e first place.
I think we are also in agreement that this guy doesn’t have a “right” to get paid to talk about golf, and that he should be forced to find another line of work not by the government, but by the adults who supposedly supervise him.
Golf sells itself. People like Feherty are not good for the game. Give him his walking papers along with a mirror so that he can stand in front of it and enjoy himself. No one else does.
Evidently MM feels someone needs to stand up for Nancy Pelosi today
Evidently, MM is standing against a right wing asshole grossly insulting U.S. soldiers and against extreme douchebaggery in general, you stupid, stupid wingnut.
I must have missed that. Who in the government tried to get him fired? I agree with you on this point, but if the government ISN’T trying to get him fired, why bother saying it?
Because News Reference tried to compare this guy’s job being at risk from his employer and the government punishing him for his speech.
I think that Feherty is a great golf announcer but that comment was beyond over the top. His schtick has always been an irreverant satirist, and I think he just went for it and missed. I hope he has the class to apologize to Sen. Pelosi.
Dave, your Northern Irish,anti-progressive streak is showing! If you had said this about Bush,Hastert, and Lott a few years back, you would’ve been canned on the spot.Look ,we know 99% of golf people are conservatives. We get that.Bush 41 is on more with Jim Nance than you are.I think you’re funny, but, you stepped over the line this time my friend! BYE! BYE!
Feherty should be fired to day. He is nauseating and he must be trying to save his job. If CBS had any class(which it doesn’t)they would find the soldier Feherty is talking about, ande get hime to shoot Feherty.
Is this one of the RW fringe lunatics Bush’s DHS was warning us about?
It is true that after GWB became POTUS, republickins put on the most shameful showing as “poor winners” I’ve ever seen. It should be no surprise that they are even poorer losers.
A pitiful party with no leadership, set adrift on a sea of uncontrolled hate and fear. Not a good scenario
Feherty is an equal opportunity slammer of whacko politicians and their supporters – read the complete article and you will conclude that he is a lot more liberal than this one comment about Pelosi/Reid would suggest.
It’s a screwed up atempt at humor, IMHO. The guy is essentially a decent human being who is a trifle whacky, but means well …
He’s certainly NOT a member of the Religious Right, being a committed atheist and a social liberal. The folks who are horrified by his reference to Pelosi have nothing to say about his dislike of right to lifers and anti-gay marriage folks. It seems that they use what they like and ignore the rest.
You guys are a joke! Pathetic! You liberals are supposed to be the champions of freedom of expression and speech, but it only applies when it is an expression that you like or agree with. This was told as a joke, you know, ha ha funny? It is a joke that has made its way around the circuit for years, with different players and butts of the joke each time. However, Jack Murtha and Barack Obama were serious as a heart attack when they accused our own soldiers of committing murder in cold blood!! For God’s sake, there was a movie depicting the assassination of our President….WHILE HE WAS IN OFFICE!! Where were all of you “protectors of our elected officials” at then? That’s what I thought. I don’t remember the same outrage that “someone would suggest one of our elected officials should be shot” then. Hypocrites, all of you!
It is amazing how words were thrown around by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, and Harry Reid, not to mention the countless number of the hollywood establishment, while George Bush was our President, like “loser” and “liar” and “murderer” and “war criminal”. Hell, they are still saying these things and trying their best to convict this President who did what he thought was best for this country at a time that I would be willing to bet many of you liberals on this website, to include the author, were running around with crap in your britches crying “help us, help us!”. Now, you can sit in self-righteous judgment 7-8 years later in a country that has not been attacked again on its homeland. You guys are really “enlightened”. Give me a freaking break. You are losers, and losers always whine regardless of what is going on around them.
I like the guy. So he’s a right-wing tool. Let him speak. Let them all speak. It never works out for them when they are allowed to speak how they really feel.
Wow, a sportscaster who turns into an utter scumbag when he tries to get into politics. You’d think he’d have learned from the lesson of the Olbermeister.
“Wow, a sportscaster who turns into an utter scumbag when he tries to get into politics. You’d think he’d have learned from the lesson of the Olbermeister.”
When it comes to politics (or anything else for that matter), Olbermann has never said or wrote anything even remotely as offensive as what Feherty wrote here. Shove your False Equivalency where the sun don’t shine.
“Olbermann has never said or wrote anything even remotely as offensive as what Feherty wrote here. Shove your False Equivalency where the sun don’t shine.”
LOL Even remotely? That’s pretty hard terrain you’re attempting to defend. Does it even matter who the winner of this particular pissing match is?
By the way, what is the liberal, progressive, reality based, perspective on Pelosi at the moment? What did she know and when did she know it? And is she telling the truth or is she a liar? We heard much about corruption during the Bush years, has anyone noticed a diminishment in corruption under the Obama administration? Remember when dissent was patriotic?
Wow, John Murtha calls the Marines a bunch or murders and convicts and the media says nothing, Feherty tell a joke and the Liberal go nuts! Liberal need to get a life and realize that most of the military hates them!! Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!!
By the way, what is the liberal, progressive, reality based, perspective on Pelosi at the moment? What did she know and when did she know it? And is she telling the truth or is she a liar?
I think those are pretty much the questions. If she was in on it, screw her, okay, but for sure screw all the people from the White House who were in on it too. If Pelosi is guilty of anything, Cheney, Addington, Libby, Rice et al are for sure guilty of far worse. I’ll trade you Pelosi, and take Jello Jay with her, for putting the aforementioned in prison.
I agree. However, there’s a chance she was told during security briefings, in which case she had to pretend she was never told, lest she reveal confidential information.
Dissent is still patriotic. The quality of that dissent remains fair game. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from scrutiny.
But as far as the tenor on the left, it remains the usual for corrupt Democrats: cast them the fuck out and good riddance.
Does the right feel similarly about its corrupt politicos, or are we still expected to believe that every single one of them was an innocent lamb railroaded by liberal Soros-funded conspiracy?
Wow! It’s amazing listening to the ire of the left wing! I guess you’ll defend freedom of speech only if you agree with it! Laughable!
Get over yourselves. Feherty cracked a tasteless joke. Your cries for his head on a platter are pathetic. And yes, Keith Olbermann HAS uttered many stupid and tasteless things.
If you boycott golf on CBS because of the comments of one guy, you’ll only hurt yourself. You’ll miss both The Masters and The US Open!
Duke Cunningham is in jail, where he belongs. Mark Foley ought to be in jail just on general scumbaggery, but he managed to just barely stay on the legal side of “barely legal.”
What are the current statuses of former Congressman William Jefferson, current Representatives Charles Rangel, John Murtha, Jesse Jackson Jr., and Senators Christopher Dodd and Dianne Feinstein?
Also, could you provide a list of Obama administration officials who DIDN’T cheat on their taxes? I was going to ask for a list of those who did, but it seems that the list of non-offenders would be shorter.
And then there’s William Hsu… and I recall that Bernie Madoff was a huge backer of liberal causes.
Nobody’s hands are clean. To pretend that corruption has a political bias is absurd. It’s associated more with power than ideology, so whichever party is dominant tends to be more corrupt.
Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!!
How wonderful to know that you are a murderous traitor. At least you’re out of the Marines. That’s a good thing. The U.S. and its armed forces deserve better.
You guys sure are funny, thin skinned too. Attention Jaime, in this country we have something called free speach. Violent hate speech is not, constitutionally speaking, a valid concept.
But more to the point if you rank a slightly bungled joke, Jay gave us the correct version, with violent hate speech you are one scared litle boy. The hypocrisy here is staggering.
“…John Murtha calls the marines a bunch or murders and convicts…”
When did he do this? Can you please give the exact quotation?
“Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!!”
You’re a fucking wacko scumbag. Thank goodness you’re not in the Marines anymore.
“I guess you’ll defend freedom of speech only if you agree with it!”
Last time I checked, it’s not a constitutional right for a person to be a golf analyst at CBS.
“He merely stated the obvious in a funny way and that is Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are both idiots.”
If you think what Feherty wrote was “funny,” I can only logically assume that your characterization of Reid and Pelosi as “idiots” was meant as a compliment to those two individuals.
“Pelosi isn’t popular in the military.”
How would you know? Done any polling lately?
“Her azz is cooked on this whole waterboarding stuff.”
I don’t know how that’s possible, since she (or anyone else for that matter) doesn’t have an “azz.”
in this country we have something called free speach.[sic]
There is enshrined in a quaint document called unknown to the GOP called the Constitution a prohibition from the GOVERNMENT making laws restricting speech, but I don’t see the government taking a stand on this issue, so I don’t know why you would raise it.
But I have the right to fire an employee if he uses his First Amendment right to embarrass me with a statement as cretinous as the one in question, and of course I would do so immediately were I his boss.
Rotter, when the story about the incident in Haditha first broke, Murtha proclaimed that the Marines involved had “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”
Then — THEN came the trials, with these Marines knowing that their guilt had already been proclaimed by the chairman of a committee with direct oversight over their Corps’ funding.
After the acquittals started piling up, Murtha refused to apologize or retract his accusations, leading to one Marine filing a defamation lawsuit against Murtha — who hid behind his Congressional immunity to say that it covered him answering reporters’ questions well away from his office.
Feel free to look up the details. Murtha pronounced them guilty before they had even been charged, there has not been a single conviction, and Murtha won’t even talk about it now.
Murtha pronounced them guilty before they had even been charged, there has not been a single conviction, and Murtha won’t even talk about it now.
Are you saying that if there is no conviction, there wasn’t a crime? That Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman are really alive because OJ beat the rap?
Those crazy Iraqis pretended to be dead to get some Marines in trouble. They were probably in on it with Murtha, because OUR BOYS would never do anything evil like that. Not since My Lai anyway. And what the heck would a heavily decorated combat veteran like Murtha know about what takes place In Country anyway?

Wow! Talk about pretzel logic! I almost got dizzy reading it.
It’s ok to call Marines murderers before there’s a trial because Murtha is a veteran and even though they were acquitted, it doesn’t mean they didn’t do it and even if they didn’t, it’s ok to say such things because soldiers did commit such crimes in the past.
Good thing we do have freedom of speech. If there were crimes for writing such idiocy, RR would never see the outside a prison.
“After the acquittals started piling up, Murtha refused to apologize or retract his accusations…”
Maybe because Murtha thought he said nothing that warranted a retraction or an apology (i.e.,the acquitted Haditha marines shouldn’t have been acquitted). Ever think of that? Plus, the comment I was responding to from Derek implied that Murtha had pegged the “murderer” label on Marines in general, not just the Marines charged with crimes in Haditha.
I repeat: Murtha stated, long before there was even an investigation, that the Marines in question “killed those civilians in cold blood.”
Investigations and hearings and trials have all ruled that that simply isn’t what happened in Haditha.
That’s why one former Marine sued Murtha.
Murtha’s defense wasn’t based on facts, but that as a member of Congress, his making such statements like that — even if completely wrong and defamatory — was protected under the Constitution.
Murtha is a corrupt, lying scumbag. And he’s chairman of the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.
“Are you saying that if there is no conviction, there wasn’t a crime?”
That really does seem to be Tea’s “logic” here, RR. Applied consistently, all prosecutors would have to apologize to the defendants they prosecuted if the latter are acquitted for the crimes they are charged with (if anything, the “expected apology for those acquitted” argument would logically apply MORE in this scenario than in Murtha’s, since the latter didn’t actually prosecute the acquitted Haditha Marines).
1. Dissent based on opposing torture, needless wars, stunting medical advancements, restricting bodily autonomy, among other issues.
2. Dissent based on the President asking for spicy mustard.
Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!
Good thing you were discharged for immolating civilans. Fucking psychopath.
Hell, they are still saying these things and trying their best to convict this President who did what he thought was best for this country at a time that I would be willing to bet many of you liberals on this website, to include the author, were running around with crap in your britches crying “help us, help us!”.
I wasn’t, but I was, oh, what’s the word? Sane?
Now, you can sit in self-righteous judgment 7-8 years later in a country that has not been attacked again on its homeland.
So Bush is a hero because the country wasn’t attacked TWICE on his watch? Boy, you ultra-cons have poor standards.
You are losers, and losers always whine regardless of what is going on around them.
Really? Didn’t seem that way last November. I’d deconstruct your post more, but you probably have ultra-con things to do, like killing gay people.
David Feherty is a retired golfer and golf commentator , unfortunately he thinks of himself as much more , a satirist , a bonvivant , a man whose opinion counts. As a fellow country man I am sickened by his attitude . He would not have made these types of biggoted political comments when he lived in Northern Ireland.
Stick to the golf commentary and be thankfull for the priveledged life you enjoy here in the USA
FEHERTY…. i once thought that this overblown gasbag (called a conservative wit with a knowledge of sports) was just a pain in the CBS lineup… but it appears that he is also a political twit who has no SPINE as well. He did say what he meant—- and does not even have the BALLS to stand by that trash.
“This passage was a metaphor meant to describe how American troops felt about our 43rd president,” Feherty said in a statement. “In retrospect, it was inappropriate and unacceptable, and has clearly insulted Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid, and for that, I apologize. As for our troops, they know I will continue to do as much as I can for them both at home and abroad.”
Quick comedy primer. Here’s how you tell Feherty’s joke and only sound like a right-wing gasbag, instead of a spineless troop slanderer.
Q: Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden are sitting in an office, discussing their plans to destroy America. You walk into the room with a gun and two bullets. What do you do?
A: Shoot Pelosi twice, then strangle Reid and bin Laden.
See the difference? “What do you do?”
Not: “What does any average American soldier do?”
You lawyer joke is funny–if old and tired–because it doesn’t include a perpetrator. For that matter, it doesn’t even include a crime. 5000 lawyers could have been on a couple of cruise ships that hit an iceberg.
In reverse: Feherty might have told your joke like this.
“I’ll tell you, if there were five-thousand trial lawyers in a convention hall right now, any honest policeman would barricade the door and set fire to the place. A good start, right?”
And joaquin–I’m going to use “He apologized. End of story.” as the response post to any time somebody brings up Robert Byrd’s KKK days or something stupid Biden said.
“By the way, what is the liberal, progressive, reality based, perspective on Pelosi at the moment? What did she know and when did she know it? And is she telling the truth or is she a liar?”
Repack — “I think those are pretty much the questions. If she was in on it, screw her, okay, but for sure screw all the people from the White House who were in on it too. If Pelosi is guilty of anything, Cheney, Addington, Libby, Rice et al are for sure guilty of far worse. I’ll trade you Pelosi, and take Jello Jay with her, for putting the aforementioned in prison.”
That is pretty ridiculous, Repack. However, the sad thing is, Bush and many of the folks in his administration would probably take you up on that if it meant ensuring our safety (I know I would). That is what they were most concerned with when they made the decision to dunk 3 dirtbag’s heads in water immediately after they masterminded the murder of 3000 of our ciitizens, with the counsel of several attorneys (you do realize that this is all over 3 of the most heinous terroists out of the hundreds or thousands we have captured on the battlefield?….only 3).
That should really be something that gets you fired up. Not whether someone is a democrat or Republican, or whether someone tells a tasteless joke, but protecting innocent Americans while they go about their everyday lives without having to be in fear of someone killing them because they worship and live differently than them. And that means leaving those alone that we elect in our democratic Republic to make the tough decisions with the inside information that only they are privied to, without fear that they will be prosecuted for political reasons if the administration that follows them disagrees with their political views. That is not good for our national safety.
Speaking of tasteless humor and reactions thereto…
Saturday night Wanda Sikes called Rush Limbaugh a traitor, a terrorist, and wished he’d die. And our president thought it was just gut-bustingly funny.
At least until his spokesman got up and said, in essence, “President Obama thought that was completely over the line. You didn’t see him guffawing over it.”
Yay for the new era of civility and maturity and respect and civil discourse.
J.G.Thayer: “Speaking of tasteless humor and reactions thereto…”
Translation: “LOOK OVER THERE!”
I’d debate you like you were an actual human being, but we both know you would just run away like you did in the DADT debate or the “Drudge attack on First Lady” thread.
So if you want to talk about the Wanda Sykes, do it on your own Blog, before you get fired from that one.
Here’s something to get you started. Can you find anything Wanda Sykes said about Rush Limbaugh that was worse than what Rush Limbaugh has said about others?
To be somewhat fair, “look over there” can a valid response when trying to point out hypocrisy or inconsistency. If “over there” is an example of one side doing exactly what they’ve just complained about the other side doing.
I haven’t seen any clip of the dinner, so I haven’t seen Sykes routine or Obama’s reaction or etc. So I don’t know if anything Sykes said about Limbaugh was worse than what he’s said about others. But if it is comparable the person shouldn’t be banished to some other venue to make their case.
For the record, I found Sykes’ jokes unfunny as well.
And if she worked for anybody besides herself at the time she told those jokes, they’d be within their rights to fire her over it.
Joe McD – Your arguments in favor of anybody’s torture scares me more than the possibility of a second 9/11.
I asked this question on another thread and the person I asked it of flat-out ignored me. Perhaps you will be more responsive.
If we should do anything in our power to keep American citizens safe, including torture, then why must we stop at mere waterboarding? As we’ve already ruled the Geneva Conventions to be “quaint” (according to torture-justifying WH counsel John Yoo), really, the sky’s the limit.
How many fingers would you cut off a terror suspect? It stands to reason, after all, that the harder you press, the faster you’ll get to that imaginary ticking time bomb. How many hours in do you pluck out the first eye? How many members of that suspect’s family would you brutalize or murder in front of him?
Cons like JT are all for American soldiers being tortured. Because surely they must know that if it’s ok to torture foreign fighters, it is ok to torture Americans also.
It would be a shame if JT went on vacation and was captured by an enemy nation and tortured to find out what he knows. Because, as he shows here on a daily basis, he knows nothing.
If not for conservative extremist shootings like Adkinson and the Pennsylvania guy, I’d say we need to lighten up a little bit. In light of those two incidents, though, I’d say conservatives seriously ought to consider avoiding this kind of humor until they can put at least a decade between them and the last ultracon liberal-killing crusader.

Except by doing that conservatives would in effect be admitting they were in part, culpable for those crimes. They weren’t. So your ‘advice’ sucks ass.
At least until his spokesman got up and said, in essence, “President Obama thought that was completely over the line. You didn’t see him guffawing over it.”
CBS will not fire or suspend him because this kind of crude liberal-bashing joke appeals to a golfing audience. It is in their financial interest to keep on someone who feeds the base. Now had he said the same joke replacing Pelosi and Reid with two prominent Republicans, CBS would have to straighten him out.
Feherty knew exactly what he was doing. Yeah, he had to apologize but he knows in the end he’ll help his employer earn higher Nielsen points, and he’ll end up getting a raise.
Except by doing that conservatives would in effect be admitting they were in part, culpable for those crimes. They weren’t. So your ‘advice’ sucks ass.
So maybe a conservative can decide to stop telling jokes about killing liberals independently of such crimes. That does require, however, initiative as opposed to constant reaction.
Holy…. Wow.
How is that relavent to a golf game at all?
Damn, and I always like him. Until now.
Feherty says he’s never met a soldier who didn’t love his President and his country. Strangely, I have met soldiers who didn’t love Bush and some who didn’t love Obama, and I’m sure I have much less experience with people in uniform than he does.
So all soldiers are traitorous murderers? I don’t think that’s right.
Yeah because joking about killing Democratic leaders of Congress is a laugh riot. I get it.
Watch conservatives turn this into a 1st amendment issue. Countdown in 3…2….
If he’s suspended, toss in an extra week for recycling an old joke that wasn’t that funny in the first place.
On the other hand, I bet John Murtha heard that and thought it really happened…
J.

If its the government doing the taking away yes, if a private corporation? No.
“If its the government doing the taking away yes, if a private corporation? No.”
More to the point, if it is the general population raising a shit storm to get this guy fired, then it is definitely not censorship.
That’s general population, not special interest groups.

Here’s the joke I was referring to:
Q: You’re in a room with a lawyer, Osama Bin Laden, and Saddam Hussein and you have a gun with two bullets. What do you do?
A: Shoot the lawyer twice.
Feherty’s taking creative writing courses from Greg Gutfeld
BYE! BYE!
I have many friends and relatives in the military. None would behave so irresponsibly.
What is it with these guys who spout off such outrageous comments? Low testosterone?
Bah!
In this month’s Esquire, Megan Fox called Superman “a douchebag.” Whattya say to that, OW?
I like the guy. So he’s a right-wing tool. Let him speak. Let them all speak. It never works out for them when they are allowed to speak how they really feel.
Wow, a sportscaster who turns into an utter scumbag when he tries to get into politics. You’d think he’d have learned from the lesson of the Olbermeister.
J.
That does it! From here on out, I’m boycotting all golf boredcasts on CBS!
“If she was in on it, screw her…”
I agree. However, there’s a chance she was told during security briefings, in which case she had to pretend she was never told, lest she reveal confidential information.
We heard much about corruption during the Bush years, has anyone noticed a diminishment in corruption under the Obama administration?
Yes.
Hmm. Our resident wing-nutter trolls are defending violent hate speech.
I’m shocked! Shocked I tell you!
Remember when dissent was patriotic?
I’ll take that challenge, SpiderJ…
J.
Feherty should not apologize. He merely stated the obvious in a funny way and that is Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are both idiots.
Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!!
How wonderful to know that you are a murderous traitor. At least you’re out of the Marines. That’s a good thing. The U.S. and its armed forces deserve better.
And yes, Keith Olbermann HAS uttered many stupid and tasteless things.
Such as…?
If you boycott golf on CBS because of the comments of one guy, you’ll only hurt yourself. You’ll miss both The Masters and The US Open!
Oh noes! How ever will I get to sleep?
Pelosi isn’t popular in the military. I don’t agree with that type of rhetoric, but I know what he meant.
And the woman is a liar also. Her azz is cooked on this whole waterboarding stuff.
The hypocrisy here is staggering.
people get a life that was so funny
What a country!
J.
Derek: “Liberal need to get a life and realize that most of the military hates them!! Yes I was a Marine and Pelosi would be on my short list!!”
Wow. So who gets to call the Secret Service on this guy?
I’m serious. This crosses the line from Freedom of Speech to Threatening the Life of the Public Official.
The phrase “culture of corruption” seems so apt…
J.
“Investigations and hearings and trials have all ruled that that simply isn’t what happened in Haditha.”
Right, because “investigations and hearings and trials” never come to incorrect conclusions.
Nobody’s hands are clean.
Mine are.
Remember when dissent was patriotic?
There’s 2 kinds of dissent.
Zython: 1
Right wingers: 0
——————-
Right winger Feherty casually joked about mass murder, targeted assassination of Americans, and even managed to smear American troops.
Right wing trolls response?
‘Look over there!’
‘Someone said something with no equivalence whatsoever!’
He apologized. End of the silly little story.
Right winger Feherty casually joked about mass murder, targeted assassination of Americans, and even managed to smear American troops.
Q: What do you call 5000 dead lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A: A good start.
NR: “ZOMG!! JAY IS JOKING ABOUT MASS MURDER!!!”
Like I said. A cartoon.
Jay -
Quick comedy primer.
In 1984 Jesse Jackson apologized for his “Hymietown” comment and he’s STILL criticized for it today by some conservatives.
Repack Rider,
“By the way, what is the liberal, progressive, reality based, perspective on Pelosi at the moment?
J.
Translation: “LOOK OVER THERE!”
“Jay Tea’s” right wing short term memory doesn’t remember Republican President Bush’s “jokes” at tht same White House Correspondent’s Dinner about ‘missing WMDs’.
Republican President Bush:
“Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere.”
“Nope, no weapons over there”
“Maybe under here?”
4294 American troops killed because of Republican Bush’s “joke” that lied US into the Iraq War.
“4294 American troops killed because of Republican Bush’s “joke” that lied US into the Iraq War.”
That doesn’t include:
Republican Bush’s “joke”/lie killing over 100,000 Iraqis.
Republican Bush’s “joke”/lie misdirecting American troops out of AFghanistan.
Republican Bush’s Iraq “joke”/lie leaving Afghanistan prey to the Taliban.
Republican Bush’s Iraq “joke”/lie leaving nuclear armed Pakistan prey to the Taliban.
Republican Bush’s Iraq “joke”/lie leaving tens of thousands of American troops wounded.
Republican Bush’s Iraq “joke”/lie deteriorating America as a world power.
Bush: ““Nope, no weapons over there””.
And the sycophantish right wing media LAUGHED.
Right winger’s “jokes” kill.
Literally.
Spider, it doesn’t matter. It was a JOKE. I already said it was a poor attempt at a takeoff on the original.
Still. It was a joke.
The notion that Feherty was actually promoting violence or mass murder or anything criminal comes from people that need to have their heads examined.
It’s as simple as that.
I believe it was Republican Bush’s torture-justifying lawyer Alberto Gonzales that said the Geneva Conventions were “quaint.”
It was Republican Bush’s torture-justifying lawyer John Yoo who said that crushing a child’s testicles would be within the President’s power.
Is that something right winger “Joe McD” would do? “Jay Tea” would.
Whoops. I must be racist when it comes to torture-apologist lawyers. They all look alike to me.
Saturday night Wanda Sikes called Rush Limbaugh a traitor, a terrorist, and wished he’d die.
I’m confused; what’s the funny part?
jay: Except by doing that conservatives would in effect be admitting they were in part, culpable for those crimes.
And “conservatives” believe themselves incapable of ever making any mistake. So you can see the difficulty here.
At least until his spokesman got up and said, in essence, “President Obama thought that was completely over the line. You didn’t see him guffawing over it.”
No good, Mr. Tea. We can see your lips moving.
Dennis should return to his native country. He has missed the point of this country. Tell him to pack his bags
