Kind of says where the last administration took the country.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told Jewish elementary school students that the Bush administration did not use illegal interrogation tactics. Her remarks were in response to a question from Misha Lerner, a fourth-grader at the Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Rice spoke at the school Sunday before giving a lecture at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue.

Lerner asked Rice what she thought about the Obama administration’s remarks on interrogation methods authorized by its predecessors.

One can’t help but hope that this represents the rest of Ms. Rice’s future in public. She deserves far worse than that, of course, but that’s about the best we’ll likely see. It would be a wonderful thing to be in her class come question time. What an embarrassment she is.

  3. Repack Rider says:

Condi is the only Bushie out taking questions, and she isn’t doing very well with just the schoolkids asking the questions. I think all the Bushies can look forward to this for a long time. Hopefully through the next two election cycles.

Well, Ms. Rice wasn’t particularly competent as a National Security Adviser or Secretary of State. Although I heard she is a good ice skater and pianist. So she has that going for her.

  5. Republican Rice says of Republican President Bush:

“‘The president was not prepared to do something illegal,’”

But Bush authorized illegal torture anyways and Rice was reportedly in the room, go figure.

And you’d think, after working for the fourth grader-in-chief, she’d have been able to handle Misha’s question . . .

    IOW, she continued to lie.

This is how Cheney, Rice and the rest should end up having to spend their time whenever they appear in public: Getting confronted with questions about torture.
