Robert Gibbs Probably Doing A Good Job
Tweet
Why would I say that? Because reporters bitched about him to Politico. If the mainstream media is okay with a Democratic press shop, its probably because the press shop is allowing the media to walk all over their message and dilute their effectiveness. Since launch of the Obama campaign to now the Obama presidency, this has never been the case with this team. They know what and what not to spoon feed the media and how it reflects on the overall goals.
Certainly I’ll concede that Gibbs is not nearly as pretty as Dana Perino, but then Dana Perino was a foot soldier in service of incompetence, cronyism and ignorance. Robert Gibbs is press secretary for a serious president.

In my opinion, it’s very apt that Jake Tapper is quoted in that article saying Obama isn’t transparent enough. It’s true that Tapper himself is very transparent: Whatever the headline on Drudge is that day is 80 percent likely to be the subject of Tapper’s question. Now that’s journalism!
Poor fucking babies. Conventional media can’t die off soon enough.
Jake Tapper’s decade’s long audition for Fox continues
The other simple fact of it all is, the press briefing is 50 percent political theater questions (“McConnell said this! What say you??), 40 percent “gotcha” questions (“You said this, but you did something else, kind of!!”), and 10 percent substantive questions, of which most are brushed off with an “I’ll get back to you.” So who cares what these clowns think? Oh, that’s right, Politico. Shocker.
If that’s your metric, then Scott McClellan was the greatest Press Secretary of all time!
