Starting quarterback Jason Campbell, whom the Washington Redskins have actively tried to replace this offseason, will request to be traded if the team selects Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez in Saturday’s NFL draft, league sources said Thursday.

The Redskins are among many teams interested in acquiring Sanchez with their top pick in the two-day draft, league sources said.

One day Dan Snyder will realize that the NFL is not analagous to fantasy football. Until then you will keep seeing this revolving door of coaches and quarterbacks.

You’re a bigger fan of Campbell than I am O-dub. It’s time for the Redskins to try something else. He’s a quality back-up at best, not a top tier QB.

I don’t know if Sanchez is the real deal or another Matt Leinart. It’s hard to tell with USC guys because they always have a great receiving core

Jeez, First Jay Cutler, and now Jason Campbell. Now these crybabies get? The better you play, the less likely your team is gonna move you. It’s not rocket science. Heck, it’s not even long division.

  5. It’s not really being a crybaby in JC’s case. This is like your boss saying your job is safe and then interviewing replacements in your office when you go to lunch.

Oliver, that’s exactly what happened with Cutler in Denver. Coach came in, told him he was the guy, three days later he’s trying to get Cassel (and not being very sly about it)… Not to mention, Cutler, with his better numbers, had more reason to feel secure. Of course, I may be confused about the dueling JCs here.

I’m not criticizing Campbell, but then, I didn’t feel it was fair to go quite so nuts over Cutler either.

I am no Campbell fan(Roll Tide!) but Sanchez is not the Redskins man. Campbell is clearly a more gifted athelete and quarterback but lets just say he is no leader. The one thing I can give Sanchez is he has better field vision but aside from that he is another USC player that will media attention to make millions and won’t amount to much of a player. I would address the O line and maybe a reciever. There are some diamonds in the rough this year.

I think the Redskins need to give JC another year. Let’s not forget this will be the first time in his NFL career that he will be in the same offense system for a second year in a row. He will go into this season not having to learn a brand new offense system. I think he will have a break out year; if not, then the Redskins can release him.
