So, am I the only one wondering where the supposed “millions” are I mean I’ve admittedly only seen pictures of the rallies in DC and Boston but if major cities are drawing barely 1000–if that– a piece I have to believe that the total will be around 100-200,00 and that’s assuming the FOX-rallies are big, I mean it looks like most of these thing would get outdrawn by a WNBA championship parade.

    2. yo mama says:

Largest tax protest in US history. And it’s driving lefty’s insane. You can not and will not ridicule us into silence anymore. Today, our voices will be heard.

      I love it!

    3. Eric Sipple says:

Oh, me too, yo mama. Me too.

    4. Tyro says:

Largest tax protest in US history.

Explain which taxes they’re protesting, in detail.

    5. durablend says:

Today, our voices will be heard.

Translated: “THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN, BITCHES!!!! WHITE POWER YEAH!!!!”

      Yeah, we’ll see about that…

    6. Duros62 says:

Explain which taxes they’re protesting, in detail.

Near as I can figure out, this is a Bush Doctrine protest, i.e., pre-emptive poutrage. They are protesting taxes that have not been raised yet.

    7. C.S.Strowbridge says:

yo mama: “Largest tax protest in US history.

And how many of those have there been? That’s a serious question. What was the second biggest tax protest in US history? Name the top five.

      “And it’s driving lefty’s insane.”

No. We are laughing at you. We are not scared of you.

I’ve even explained why this was true.

Teabagging slang for dipping your balls in someone’s mouth. It is a sex act. Look it up on Urban Dictionary if you don’t believe me.

“You can not and will not ridicule us into silence anymore.”

Don’t want to. Not trying to. We like it when you embarrass yourselves.

“Today, our voices will be heard.”

      Don’t think so.

      “I love it!”

Come on. I’ve seen bigger crowds to see major league soccer.

    8. C.S.Strowbridge says:

      Duros: “i.e., pre-emptive poutrage.”

I can’t tell if this is a typo or not.

Pout + Outrage = Poutrage. It makes sense.

    9. Parthenon says:

They are protesting taxes that have not been raised yet.

And won’t be, on nearly all of them. Unless they’re saying their taxes WILL be raised, in which case they are protesting things nobody has even proposed.

On that note, I’m going to go protest the invasion of Micronesia.

    10. Duros62 says:

Oh, it’s no typo, I can assure you.

    11. Buzz Killington says:

It’s the spending. How do you think the exploding debt is going to be paid off in the future? Are you happy about it?

    12. sgwhiteinfla says:

Here is the thing, Neil Cavuto kept lying about FoxNews covering the Million Man march but in the midst of the lie he kept down playing it by saying “only” 500,000 people showed up. Many people say the number was much higher but the question is if these teabaggers couldn’t get even 500,000 people total from all over the country to protest today how big of an EPIC FAIL is that? I want to see Cavuto’s sanctimonious ass when he has to go on TV and admit that less than 100,000 people showed up nationwide.

    13. yo mama says:

This is hilarious. Yeah, try to convince yourself that “your just laughing at us.” Threads like the last one about tea parties that had over 100 comments show that the left is concerned about this wonderful grassroots movement taking place in America. It’s the first amendment at it’s finest, and we will be heard. And we’re so insignigicant that the bloghost has evidently gone out to cover it live. You people will do whatever you can to discredit this movement, evidently through ridicule, because you have no real ground to stand on when it comes to this administration and responsible taxation and spending. I though Bush was bad, but Obama – jesus. The straw has broke the camel’s back. It’s not right/left, it’s simple math. This type of spending is just not sustainable, not matter how much your hero Obama tells you it is. And it’s inevitable that taxes will be raised to a level so oppressive that this country will be destroyed economically.

Our tea parties are protesting that. And Obama, our Teleprompter-in-Chief, will hear us loud and clear.

      Eat it.

Shorter durablend: I’m not smart enough to exchange ideas, so I’ll just accuse everyone of being racist to try and shut them up.

Hey durablend – not gonna work. you won’t silence us any. more.

I’m off to the protest. Everyone enjoy your day while you go batshit crazy screaming at Fox News covering the biggest tax protest in US history.

    14. And with that, the anonymous whiner calling himself “yo mama” on an internet message board set off to make prove he should never be giggled at.

    15. sgwhiteinfla says:

To put it in perspective well over 100 million people voted in the Presidential election last year. If the Tea Party folk don’t get at least 1 million folks then they won’t even have 1% of the voting public with them today. Thats what you call sorry as hell.

    16. Parthenon says:

Hey durablend – not gonna work. you won’t silence us any. more.

For the last time, please, keep talking. The unintentional hilarity has so far been excellent.

    17. matt621 says:

      Then they ridicule you.

      Then they fight you.

      Then you win.”

Phase 2 is proceeding according to plan.

    18. Leota2 says:

Bye, bye Yo Mama. You go out and do that thing you do (you poor thing. . . .)

You’re almost like a dorky kid with new tennis shoes trying to impress the popular kids by running by them at top speed. It’s funny ’cause it’s sad.

    19. Duros62 says:

you have no real ground to stand on when it comes to this administration and responsible taxation and spending.

      WHAT TAXATION?!!!
He just signed the BIGGEST MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT IN HISTORY!

      That means you!

      You’re pissed about it?
Maybe if the last administration hadn’t fucked up the economy so bad, we wouldn’t have to budget $1 trillion in spending to try and fix it.

    20. durablend says:

Yeah Yo Mama. Bring us back a stuffed animal!

    21. Duros62 says:

      Bless their hearts.

    22. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Buzz Killington: “It’s the spending. How do you think the exploding debt is going to be paid off in the future? Are you happy about it?”

Nope. Not happy that the economy ground to a halt. But I’m not blaming the people trying to fix it either. I’m blaming the idiots who broke it in the first place.

    23. sgwhiteinfla says:

Best example of the perpetual victimhood practiced by conservatives:

A bunch of clowns protesting getting a tax cut comparing themselves to Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

      Stay classy conservatives

    24. durablend says:

Duros62 said: “Maybe if the last administration hadn’t fucked up the economy so bad”

Psst–All Clinton’s fault (and whatever part wasn’t was Carter’s doing or that evil SOB FDR).

      Just for reference….

Yes. And step number one is, ‘Don’t name your movement after a sex act.’

    26. Dennis says:

And we’re so insignigicant that the bloghost has evidently gone out to cover it live. yo mama

And on a day when it’s raining cats and dogs and the temp in the low 40’s. Must’ve been really important to get in those laughs.

    27. I'm a Hick says:

So, who’s the Ghandi of the Teabag movement?

    28. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Yo Mama: “Shorter durablend: I’m not smart enough to exchange ideas, so I’ll just accuse everyone of being racist to try and shut them up.”

You realize I asked you some questions, right? You aren’t ignoring those because you are, ‘not smart enough to exchange ideas…’ Right?

So are you going to get into an ‘exchange of ideas’ or are you just going to rant and prove that you are a hypocrite?

    29. Duros62 says:

Must’ve been really important to get in those laughs.

      Oh, you have no idea.

    30. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Dennis the Bigot: “And on a day when it’s raining cats and dogs and the temp in the low 40’s. Must’ve been really important to get in those laughs.”

Is this your way of blaming the weather for the low turnout? Even Fox News was describing the turnout in Boston, a city with a metro area population of over 4 million, as ‘in the hundreds’.

I’m not impressed. Neither should you be.

    31. durablend says:

Conservatives (or whatever the hell they’re calling themselves today) are the gift that just keeps on giving and giving and giving!

BTW, that laughter is everyone laughing AT you, not with you

    32. michael says:

These anti-tax, anti-government demonstrations are all being held on private land, correct?

    33. sgwhiteinfla says:

The question I have is why are all the commenters who have been promoting teabagging here online instead of out there with their peeps? Whatsa matter, are you ashamed? Where are your signs and teabags?

    34. Dennis says:

Is this your way of blaming the weather for the low turnout? –CS Smoochie Strowbridge, aka ‘The Butt-kisser’

No, Smoochie, it’s my way of saying it’s weird, if not bizarre, and somewhat obsessive, traits not different from your own, to take the time to drive to downtown DC on a cold, drizzly, dreary day and take pictures of nothing and say it’s all about getting laughs.

If you are not impressed, why are you all so consumed?

Oh, for the laughs, that’s right.

    35. Oliver’s website must scare Dennis shitless.

    36. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Dennis the Bigot: “…to take the time to drive to downtown DC on a cold, drizzly, dreary day and take pictures of nothing and say it’s all about getting laughs.”

You realize there are people who live and work in these cities. These people likely have cell phones. These cell phones likely have cameras.

It takes almost no effort to walk past a public place on your way to somewhere you are already going and take some photos / video clips.

And the rewards are immense. All it will take is a few ‘Macaca moments’ caught on camera and spread via YouTube to do more damage to the movement than all of the positive spin Fox News will give it.

Dennis the Bigot: “If you are not impressed, why are you all so consumed?”

Teabagging is the name of a sex act where you dip your balls up and down in someone’s mouth. This whole event couldn’t be funnier if Jon Stewart organized it.

Come on, you have to give us that one. You have to admit the name is, at the very least, unfortunate.

And besides. It’s either this or I watch Spectacular!, and that’s not going to happen. (I’m having a bad allergic reaction to ‘Jazz Hands’.)

    37. C.S.Strowbridge says:

August J. Pollak: “Oliver’s website must scare Dennis shitless.”

      Good point. Well made.

    38. Down says:

Largest tax protest in US history? Ha ha ha, I bet the TOTAL number of teabaggers nationwide doesn’t even fill up a football stadium…not even close.

So 46 million people voted for McCain…and 1% of that would be 460,000 people.

    39. I bet the TOTAL number of teabaggers nationwide doesn’t even fill up a football stadium

Nah, let’s be generous. I’ll go as far to say that all the teabag protesters today might all add up to almost as many people at an Obama rally.

    40. Dennis says:

August J. Pollak: “Oliver’s website must scare Dennis shitless.”

Good point. Well made. –CS Strowbridge, aka The Butt-kisser

And you must really need some friends, Smoochie, even if they are only virtual. You just can’t stop the sucking up.

And you’re not even embarrassed by it.

It’s just you and your videos, isn’t it?

    41. jr says:

“get your own body armor”-tea baggers to the troops

    42. Over 90% of American taxpayers are getting a TAX CUT.

Why do the tea baggers hate 90% of America?

    43. Why do you hate tax cuts for 90% of Americans, “Yo Mama”?

Do you really hate America and Americans that much?

    44. “jr” makes a good point.

The Republicans short changed American troops.

Republicans sent in American troops into a war that the Republicans ginned up with lies. Republicans failed to adequately plan for contingencies and even stopped the planning for contingencies because of sheer arrogance.

Republicans failed to provide the body armor troops requested.

Republicans failed to provide the MRAPs that the Marines requested.

Republicans short changed the VA hospitals (see: Walter Reed hospital scandal).

Republicans, Chickenhawks who evaded service, snubbed returning troops legitimate claims of PTSD.

And during a time of two wars (one of which the lied US into) Republicans demanded tax cuts, the vast, vast bulk of which went to the ultra-ultra-wealthy.

Now Republicans and their corporate lobbyist astroturfed tea parties are ginning up outrage over tax cuts to 90% of American tax payers.

The right wing is a sick combination of a tyranny of stupid manipulated by a tyranny of evil.

    45. Hedley says:

Yes. And step number one is, ‘Don’t name your movement after a sex act.’

Personally I can’t wait for the Dirty Sanchez Day protests.

    46. Dennis says:

Over 90% of American taxpayers are getting a TAX CUT. News Deficient

What are you saying, News Ref, that ‘Hey. you got yours. STFU now already’?

That logic is so contrary to the liberal belief system, it’s unbelieveable. The hypocrisy with you guys I get, just not the stupidity of that question. It’d be like saying to the Iraq War protesters, “you’re not going to Iraq, why the hell do you care about the war?”

You’re an idiot, News Reference. For the most part, these are good people who pay their taxes and do good things for the country and their community, and they’re doing nothing more than exercising their right to protest something they think is very wrong and in the long term detrimental to this country. To ask why they hate America and Americans is absurd, stupid and the ultimate in hypocrisy coming from a liberal.

Why do you hate people that don’t see things quite the way you do? Why do you hate America and Americans that much?

      Asswipe.

    47. texan_reader says:

I’m all for tax reduction, too. Problem is, the Republican party is not going to reduce your taxes by any significant amount, unless you are very wealthy. All that would result from getting Repubs into office is lots of talk about values you agree with while not actually doing anything for you. Most of you would not have any taxes reduced. So there you go. Vote them in, and listen to them agree with you on conversation points for four years. Does you no good at all. My Obama vote was more about accepting that I’m still going to have a fourth of my income taken away but at least I may get more in return for that money. It may not be right, but it’s a better deal.

    48. ed says:

Hey look, yo mama made a video:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHq-9qmC4jI

      Big funny.

    49. Chow Shark says:

Dennis: “What are you saying, News Ref, that ‘Hey. you got yours. STFU now already’?”

No Genius, that means you got yours too.

    50. Eric Sipple says:

they’re doing nothing more than exercising their right to protest something they think is very wrong and in the long term detrimental to this country.

Which, coincidentally, only started bothering them enough to protest when Obama got into office.

    51. SaveFarris says:

Over 90% of American taxpayers are getting a TAX CUT.

If you have to pay it back next April (and you do), then it’s not a tax cut: it’s a welfare payment.

    52. ed says:

If you have to pay it back next April (and you do), then it’s not a tax cut: it’s a welfare payment.

      Huh?

    53. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Dennis the Bigot: “And you must really need some friends, Smoochie, even if they are only virtual.”

Not all of us can go to Klan meetings to meet new people.

“You just can’t stop the sucking up.”

Funny how when we agree with each other, you attack us for sucking up. And when we don’t vocally agree with each other, you attack us for being so wrong that our side abandoned us.

It’s hypocrisy like that that’s the main reason there’s little point in talking to you like you were an actual human being.

It’s much more efficient to say, ‘Fuck off.’ and end the conversation at that.

By the way, latest Generic Congressional Ballot poll I read had the Democrats up by 11%. That’s better than they were doing in 2008. So if you think these Teabagging parties are a sign of a mass populous movement, you are wrong.

    54. Quaker in a Basement says:

If you have to pay it back next April (and you do), then it’s not a tax cut: it’s a welfare payment.

Because people on welfare…have to…pay back? I lost you there, Farris.

    55. Dennis says:

The network of the foul, far-left wingnut reporter Susan Roesgen, and the shows of the two “teabagging” middle school clowns, Maddow and Cooper, are dead freaking LAST.

      Oh well.

    56. C.S.Strowbridge says:

Dennis the Bigot: “The network of the foul, far-left wingnut reporter Susan Roesgen, and the shows of the two “teabagging” middle school clowns, Maddow and Cooper, are dead freaking LAST.
      Oh well.”

And how are these rankings different in November when THE GOP GOT THEIR ASSES HANDED TO THEM?

The Teabagging parties were a bust, and you know it. So you aren’t talking about the amount of people who were at these protests, and are changing the subject to TV ratings.

      How predictable.
      How pathetic.

    57. So, Dennis, who hates 90% of America, shows numbers that more people sat on their bums watching FOX Republican propaganda than FOX, despite Murdoch’s puppet’s weeks of extensive marketing of the Teabag Parties (that was effectively multi-millions of dollars of advertising), could get to go out to the Teabag Parties?

      Hmmm.

And the point of having 4 million couch potatoes either crazy enough or dumb enough to watch the Fascist-Lite FOX propaganda means what? Exactly?

That the other 302 million Americans are still sane? That you are, in fact, surrounded? That FOX is still a long way away from reaching even 02% of the US population?

      Dennis, you’ve strangely reassured me.

And for the record, Dennis, I’m more conservative than you will ever likely be.

You’ve been suckered by something wicked that has ‘labeled’ itself ‘conservative.’ It’s not.

Murdoch marketing madness isn’t ‘conservative,’ it’s just stupid.

But you have my support and encouragement to be as stupid as you want to be.

Though, as a true conservative, I also encourage you to read and think for yourself.

      Baby steps, Dennis, baby steps.

    58. Jaim says:

Wow. I feel so different after the amazingly effective tea-bagging of America.

    59. Dennis says:

That the other 302 million Americans are still sane? That you are, in fact, surrounded? That FOX is still a long way away from reaching even 02% of the US population? News Ref

You sound exactly like Janeane Garafolo, News Reference. There couldn’t possibly be even one conservative cell in your body.

Your logic is all over the place. If Fox is so inconsequential, why is it you guys are all so insanely obsessed with them?

    60. Duros62 says:

Because they are lying to the detriment of the country, Dennis. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
