Well, are you saying that the 97% number does bother you, or the 82% number doesn’t?

To close the circle you are trying to find, I don’t have any faith in either party there now, which is why I said Washington, rather than Democrats. So, 82% disapproving, while perhaps statistically alarming, is a good sign, if true. The 97% approving is both statistically and realistically horrifying.

Uhmm Buzz shouldn’t it worry you then that 82% of Republicans dissapprove of Dem leadership on the economy? If its all about big numbers with you doesn’t that necessarily mean that all of the Republicans are wrong too?

This is quite terrifying, and hopefully something is wrong with the poll. 97% of any sufficiently large group of people should practically never support a leader on a given issue, especially one as debatable and divisive as the economy.

Beyond that, 97% of Democrats think trillion+ deficits and inflationary spending are the right way to improve an economy? It troubles me that anyone has any confidence in Washington to help the economy.

A better point here wrt not only FoxNews but CNN and MSNBC is that Independents favor Democratic Leadership in Congress on the economy by more than 10 percentage points over Republican Leadership. Why this is key is because they trust Democratic Leadership at a rate of 26 percentage points higher than self identified Republicans do. And Independents trust Republican leadership at a rate of 21 percentage points lower than self identified Republicans. That shows that not only are the Republican leaders detached from reality, so are the self identified Republican voters who they are trying to keep happy.

And it kinda kills the whole “Independents don’t like the left wing partisans Pelosi and Reid” rhetoric also.

Those numbers don’t reflect the fact that more people identify as Democrats and fewer people identify as Republicans.

It’s roughly like saying 97% of 160 Democrats trust Obama and 38% of 100 Republicans don’t trust him.

Only in right wing world are fewer Republicans somehow greater than a larger number of Democrats.

Maybe that’s what right wingers mean when they talk about going back to Original Constitution: Democratic voters are only 3/5ths of a person.
