That quote is brilliant. The republicans always paint themselves as the oppressed minority when we've been living with some pretty hardcore conservative policies for a long time. Especially in economics. As the graphs in this article show:

We've been dealing with their crap for a long time. Yet they still complain. Amazing.

Randy Brown:

Do you even know what the two wars combined cost? (Iraq and Afghanistan)?

Do you even know what the ground game strategy was to not only pay for the wars and turn an economy-wide profit, plus thwart Russian adventurism in the region, along with stopping their attempts to blackmail eastern europe with expensive natural gas supplies?

Do you even know that in less than 100 days lil bHo's administration has allowed the financial backbone of this country drift because of his choice to make Tim Geithner a dead in the water cabinet minister while allowing the architect of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac disaster (one L. Summers) serve as an unaccountable economic advisor within the executive branch?

Do you even know the risk we are facing as a nation of having our currency destroyed in favor of a mish-mash euro-style currency that will wreck what is left of the middle class?

Do you even know of anything else but griping gotcha politics after having blown out your hemmorhoidal tissues over the Bush Presidency in favor of Pelosi and Reid's style of running Congress into the ground since the 06 mid-term elections?

The Tea Party movement will get the government's attention because it isn't a Right wing conspiratorial movement. Folks that are paying attention to the hyperinflationary trend lil bHo's "policies" are conjuring know that it is our ruin as a country that is coming.

Look at the numbers regarding the deficit.... look at the numbers of non-tax paying dole dependents that are driving fiscal policy and creating the need for runaway entitlement spending.... and it will explain why taxpayers like myself will be rallying in protest.

Look at the spending in the so-called stimulus bill. Where's the beef? We don't want to pay for that because it is not solving the financial crisis we find ourselves in.

I am a fan of George Bush in one way and one way only: we were not attacked on our own soil after 9/11 and we ousted Sadamm Hussein to help Iraq turn itself around. For that history will honor him much like it did Lincoln.

What will history say about Barry Soetoro...the man without US citizenship who usurped the Presidency? He's going down in flames....and it doesnt take a conservative mentality to see it: no balls, intense hedonistic proclivities (pizza and 100 dollars a pound beef anybody?), and classic narcisstic personality disorder..... as an independent voter and thinker and businessman, I say he has just about tied himself up in knots with very few clues as to what to do next now that his world tour is reaping zero benefits and his domestic agenda has been all but tabled until 2010.

Lame. Not even a duck. And he hasnt even reached his 100th day.

Well then, where in the wide world of FUCK were they in 2003, when Bush was starting expensive wars AND slashing taxes?

I like Andrew Sullivan's line - they're not tea parties, they're tea tantrums.

And yo mama - no one is saying they don't have a *right* to protest, we are questioning what they are protesting for: let's be honest, these tea parties aren't protesting any concrete policy, they're nothing but a plaintive cry: "Waaah! Our side isn't running everything anymore! Not fair! Mommy!!!"

OW, you comparing Obama to one of the most overrated characters in wrestling history? BO is probably more like the Rock's father, Rocky Johnson (the first black person to ever hold a major pro wrestling title).

However, Obama reminds me more of Bruno Sammartino, an old-style grappler who did all his promotion in the ring, not on the mic. Bruno didn't put on any flash, no videos, no theme music. Just himself, basic black trinks and boots, and (for a while in the late 70s) that ridiuculos "white Afro." Bruno wore out his opponents not with high-flying stunts, but with punishing maneuvers such as toe-holds, arm-bars, etc. leading up to his finisher, the bear hug. The young Bob Backlund had a similar method.

As does Obama, who (thus far) places substance over style. No flashy landing on carrier decks in flight suits, or other such bullshit. Just go in there and get the job done.

this line was classic

"Antitax “tea parties” inspired by talk radio, like the one staged in Northport, N.Y., are the actions of spoiled children who are unable to confront the real problems facing our country today."

How dare those people protest. Who do they think they are - taxpaying US citizens with a right to be concerned or something!

And even funnier, no mention of the "other spoiled children" that protest the weather, and because they want free stuff at other peoples' expense.

How ridiculous.
