He’s doing a reasonable job so far as veep. Compared to Cheney, who was Constitutionally illiterate and SHOT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING IN THE FACE, Biden is Winston freakin’ Churchill.

After eight years of Cheney, Americans are relieved to have a prez and a veep who aren’t ridiculous embarrassments. And only someone as ideologically warped as you can’t grok that simple fact.

But like I said, the longer you get high off of your own FreeRepublic farts, the longer it will take for the Republican party to ever mount a serious threat to Democratic dominance. And I don’t think this period of complete ignorance will last forever, but it’s sure going to last longer than anyone expected. in November of 2008.

They simply don’t seem to want to win elections any more. They just want to whine and complain about how 2008 was “stolen” from them.

Joe Biden is rapidly turning into another Dan Quayle — but without the oh-so-charming deer-in-the-headlights look. A flub that resulted in “a majority of the American people have lost confidence in Biden?” I’m sure you can whip up some poll to “prove” that that hasn’t happened. Never mind that the American people shouldn’t HAVE any “confidence” in Biden to lose in the first place — “I HAVE TEH NUMBERS AND TEH POLLS THAT PROOOOVE YOU RONG!”

Biden’s gaffes? They take up VOLUMES. “Stand up, Chuck!” Busting on Chief Justice Roberts while administering oaths — that one was so bad, Obama had to check him on it. His description of Obama — “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” “Hillary Clinton would have been a better vice-president.” “It all boils down to a three-letter word: jobs.” Franklin Roosevelt going on TV to address the American people after the stock market crash. “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” “Paying higher taxes is patriotic.”

So here (back to the original topic) we have Joe Biden, whose memory only occasionally coincides with reality, saying that he gave Bush a brutal put-down in a meeting with Bush and his aides — and his aides are all saying that it never happened.

If Biden said that he always remembered that the sun rose in the East and set in the West, I’d be double-checking that.

I think we’ll see the GOP split in two a lot sooner than previously (reality-based Romney wing vs. Koo-Koo Klub Palin/Limbaugh wing). The center cannot hold, especially with children in charge.

Clearly, being called a liar by noted expert Karl Rove is definitely a huge blow. I cited the piece I wrote a while ago to point out that Biden’s propensity for Just Making Shit Up is historic. It was in Claremont, NH in 1988 that it first came to most people’s attention, and this story shows that 20 years later, he hasn’t changed in the least.
