Wrong Bachus! It’s not Max – it’s Spencher Bachus, the Republican Congressman from Alabama.
Dear Pubs,
The Cold War’s been over for 20 years.
Signed,
The Present.
As Coach Denny Green would say
“They are who we thought they were”
And this guy’s the top republican on the finance committee?
Jesus.
Oliver, you got the wrong Bachus. Max Bachus is a Democratic Senator from Montana. Spencer Bachus is an Alabama Republican representative.
And Bachus didn’t name names of the socialist 17.
</blockquote.
Shocker.
“Joe McCarthy was great man that is smeared by the dishonest left”-Bill O’Rielly
Another reason I am glad I left Alabama…
The first wave of bank bail-outs began under Bush II.
Is he a socialist?
The party of IOKIYAR will never understand its own raging hypocrisy.
Give the Bircher a binky
White Whale, did O’Reilly actually say that? The one time I have heard him mention McCarthy’s name, on his now-defunct radio show, he was actually (to my surprise) kind of critical of the guy.
I thought it was Coulter who had the hard-on for McCarthy, not O’Reilley.
I agree, Coulter was the one who got in…well, not trouble, so much as more of the negative attention she feeds on…for canonizing McCarthy a few years back.
I will say, however, that if O’Reilly didn’t like McCarthy, I imagine part of it was that he didn’t have enough savvy to survive being torn apart by that liberal media darling Edward Murrow.
Had he just been rocking out to Winger when he said this? To remember the right number, Sen Iselin had Heinz…
For extra amazement, follow OW’s link to The Politico and check the reader comments for that story…yikes!!
I read on another blog that the Republicans have been using the term, ‘Socialism’ as a slur against the Democrats for so long, that it is causing a rise in popularity for socialism.
Oops.
Has Rep. Bachus talked to Senator Bernie Sanders about this? I think Bernie would be pleasantly surprised to find out there are at least 16 “fellow travelers” in Congress.
[...] Gonna find out [...]
It wasn’t an actual quote but a joke that I suppose a hypocrite like Oriely would espouse. It is correct that Orielly has not been a fan, but if you look at his words and put them next to McCarthy’s words there is certian style and subject matter they both share. Sorry for the mix up:)
Just what do the Republicans actually think “socialism” means, anyway? The definition’s been blurred so much that it pretty much seems to mean “Not Conservative”. Which might explain why it’s becoming so popular.
Der Socialists Took Der Jobs!!!…
Get your pitchforks, yey ignorant country-folk, for the socialists ‘er coming!!!:
But Representative Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) said he is worried that he is being steered too far by the Congress: “Some of the men and women I work with in Cong…
Just what do the Republicans actually think “socialism” means, anyway?
“Bad.”
Rep. Spencer Bachus informs us that he has a list of 17 “socialists” in the House of Representatives.
And?
More like Jim Backus.
BrianK – I’d hope so… I’d be happier than a pig rolling in slops to get a couple dozen more of Bernie Sanders in Congress!
‘Joe McCarthy’s Party Is Alive’
When the Hell did it ever die? The GOP will always attract the racist, inbred morons that feed off their specious lies.
America, fuck yeah.
