Good grief.
You could use a week or two vacation, Oliver.
Dennis, he needs to feed his psychopathic left-wing loon bootlickers. What better way than to spread the bullshit meme that Glenn Beck is responsible for cops getting killed? You have to feed douchebags by acting like a douchebag.
I’ll stop when the right keeps pushing this atmosphere in our country. Ok? That’s the deal.
Bullshit. You’re using the murder of cops in an attempt to silence people you do not like.
Nothing more.
Jay, you guys push this bull and don’t want to accept the consequence of your actions. Its as simple as that.
Jay Caruso. “Dennis, he needs to feed his psychopathic left-wing loon bootlickers.”
The term projection doesn’t even begin to cover it anymore.
Nor does the term begin to cover Oliver’s blaming us for this mass murder, CSS.
Dennis: “Nor does the term begin to cover Oliver’s blaming us for this mass murder, CSS.”
Well, the master of projecting has spoken.
Forgive me if I don’t accept your word alone on the matter. Care to elaborate?
I’ll start. Rush’s fans proudly call themselves Dittoheads. How’s that for bootlickers? Can you find a similar example on the left?
Forgive me if I don’t accept your word alone on the matter. Care to elaborate?
You’ll have to ask Jay about bootlickers, CSS. I’m just saying it goes well past the point of simple projection to blame us for this mass murder. Bizarrely so. Black helicopter territory, in fact, to borrow an already worn out phrase. The term projection doesn’t even begin to cover blaming the murders on Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, much less us.
Bullshit. You’re using the murder of cops in an attempt to silence people you do not like.
This is not about silencing, it’s about trying to get people to understand that they’re accountable for their speech. If you stoke hatred with lies, or turn your show into paranoid schizophrenic fantasy camp, you should not be immune to criticism.
Remember when that hippie environmentalist spent a weekend smoking weed and watching Al Gore and Michael Moore movies and then went out and shot three cops in cold blood?
No? I don’t either. Because it never happened and never will. Republicans embrace violence as a core principle, and in this (hopefully isolated case) they have reaped what they sowed.
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice
Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.
And this is an incitement to murder law officers exactly how?
Liberals seem to have a real problem with the Constitution and the first amendment. They are trying to invent something called hate speach. This new type of speech crime (which doesn’t exist) is supposed to provide protected classes from being offended.
Another cute liberal trick is selective outrage. Barry Goldwater is pilloried for his strong patriotic views but the average rap star can sing about blood curdling violence, pimping whores and capping dudes with a free pass. Not to mention the actual violence, shooting and mysterious deaths following socalled rap wars.
Sorry guys, it’s a little hard to take you guys very seriously.
You’re using the murder of cops in an attempt to silence people you do not like.
Trying to silence? Countering talk with more talk is “trying to silence” someone? Good grief, Jay, that’s loony.
Tell you what. You pick the number. Tell us how many examples you would like to see of right wing commenters in reputable outlets claiming that Mr. Obama is a threat to the United States, the Constitution, and the rights of individual Americans.
Choose a number, Jay. How many examples will satisfy you?
Dennis: “I’m just saying it goes well past the point of simple projection to blame us for this mass murder”
He was told Obama was going to take away his guns.
He killed three cops, because he thought Obama was going to take away his guns.
Hmmm… I wonder if there’s some cause and effect here?
“The term projection doesn’t even begin to cover blaming the murders on Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, much less us.”
Did someone blame you personally?
AO: “Another cute liberal trick is selective outrage. Barry Goldwater is pilloried for his strong patriotic views but the average rap star can sing about blood curdling violence, pimping whores and capping dudes with a free pass.”
WHAT? You are comparing a politician to a rap star?
Good lord!
LOL,
No I’m comparing a fine patriotic American who is held up here on this leftist propaganda site as an incitement for violence to thuggish street trash who glorify violence, murder, and misoginy and basically totaly slide.
AO: “Another cute liberal trick is selective outrage. Barry Goldwater is pilloried for his strong patriotic views but the average rap star can sing about blood curdling violence, pimping whores and capping dudes with a free pass.”
Me: “WHAT? You are comparing a politician to a rap star?
Good lord!”
Amused Observer: “LOL,
No I’m comparing a fine patriotic American who is held up here on this leftist propaganda site as an incitement for violence to thuggish street trash who glorify violence, murder, and misoginy and basically totaly slide.”
… So you are comparing a politician to a rap star.
But you just said you are not.
Wow.
Nice work.
I heard somewhere that Michael Moore was not sveltest of souls.
So Amused Observer implies that hate speech from the violent words of rap music has violent consequences and then argues the violent words from right wing extremists doesn’t have violent consequences because?? IOKIYAR??
Amused Observer apparently doesn’t recognize the difference between right wing leaders spouting violent rhetoric as part of their leadership rolls within the Republican Party (like Limbaugh and Coulter, and Murdoch’s handmaidens: Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck et.al) and musicians pushing gangster rap.
Amused Observer may be farther down the rabbit hole than Dennis.
You folks are living on some pretty thin gruel.
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice
Goldwater was arguing for the use of nuclear weapons as a regular course of war. This was and is fucking insane.
Barry Goldwater is pilloried for his strong patriotic views but the average rap star can sing about blood curdling violence, pimping whores and capping dudes with a free pass.
Ludacris isn’t running for President of the United States. Goldwater was. Here’s the deal: Get Limbaugh and the others to concede that they’re a bunch of circus clowns and not, as he describes himself, “America’s Anchorman” and I’ll stop taking him serious rather than as the pro-conspiracy serious voice of influence on the right he is.
Charlton Heston’s speech paved the way for more police funerals
Goldewater: “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice”
Oliver Willis: “Goldwater was arguing for the use of nuclear weapons as a regular course of war. This was and is fucking insane.”
I bet they don’t know that.
I bet they have no clue what a nutter he was.
The only other explanation is they agree that the use of nuclear weapons should be considered as the normal course of war, and not as the event that could end civilization as we know it.
“Ludacris isn’t running for President of the United States. Goldwater was. Here’s the deal: Get Limbaugh and the others to concede that they’re a bunch of circus clowns and not, as he describes himself, “America’s Anchorman” and I’ll stop taking him serious rather than as the pro-conspiracy serious voice of influence on the right he is.”
Didn’t Glenn Beck call himself a rodeo clown recently? However, given his obvious mental instability, he may very well think he is a rodeo clown.
Amused Observer: “You folks are living on some pretty thin gruel.”
An amazingly awesome counter-argument.
It completely explains all of your contradictory points you’ve presented so far.
“You folks are living on some pretty thin gruel.”
Three Pittsburgh cops blown away by a wing-nut aren’t living at all.
Ain’t life grand?
From Michelle Bachmann (R-MN)
“I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us ‘having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,’ and the people – we the people – are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States.”
Bachmann is a perfect representative of the modern Republican party. Classy as all get-out.
We should maybe dress this up a little bit, for those who are struggling with this issue.
Individuals are solely responsible for their own actions.
Basic truism of civilization. That individual was solely responsible for his decision to kill three police officers. No one else.
Basic truism of civilization.
I’m pretty sure people living together is a huge part of civilization. Oh, and your comment will be a great comfort to Rwanda. Thanks. So I’m off to yell “Fire” at a crowded movie house. If anyone’s hurt in any ensuing stampede, it’s their own damn fault for not taking responsibility of their own actions. The losers.
Oh and thanks TheGut for volunteering in the war…on straw.
TheGut: Individuals are solely responsible for their own actions.
Ultimately, yes. And those who spew hate and violence are responsible for their actions. Not that you’d be able to tell from the handwashing and enabling being spouted by Dennis, Amused 0 et al.
People are influenced in their actions and opinions by others. Or are you going to argue that we all live in individual little vacuums?
Amused Observer may be farther down the rabbit hole than Dennis.
Of that, there is no doubt.
You’re using the murder of cops in an attempt to silence people you do not like.
Criticizing inflammatory speech is hardly ’silencing’ anyone, what’s your problem?
TheGut: “Individuals are solely responsible for their own actions.”
And the individuals who were telling this guy Obama was going to take away his guns are also responsible.
Responsibility is not a pie chart. One person being more responsible doesn’t mean someone else is less responsible.
Real life is more complex than that.
And the individuals who were telling this guy Obama was going to take away his guns are also responsible. CSS
Reports are this nut was not only hanging out at Stormfront, but that he was a prolific poster. It was stated in another link posted here from a Pgh newspaper interviewing an extremist expert that Poplawski even disagreed with Alex Jones. It’s highly likely he would’ve considered Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh as all milquetoast douche bags, or that listening to them was his preferred source of information about guns and what Obama was going to do about them. Even more unlikely that anything any of those talk show guys said would’ve caused him to go postal like he did.
So are you saying that Stormfront bears some responsibility as well as the hyperbole coming out of Fox?
So are you saying that Stormfront bears some responsibility as well as the hyperbole coming out of Fox? Duros62
Should’ve proofread that before hit the Submit button. Meant to say:
It’s highly likely he would’ve considered Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh as all milquetoast douche bags, and that listening to them could hardly have been his preferred source of information about guns and what Obama was going to do about them.
So, no, Duros, for a guy this extreme, he’d likely come away from watching anything on Fox feeling very frustrated that they didn’t go far enough in their hyperbole.
Me: “And the individuals who were telling this guy Obama was going to take away his guns are also responsible.”
Dennis: “Reports are this nut was not only hanging out at Stormfront…”
Are these the same reports you dismissed earlier?
“It’s highly likely he would’ve considered Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh as all milquetoast douche bags…”
Highly likely? And you are basing this on your knowledge of the average poster on Stormfront?
Secondly, the people who turn extremists positions into mainstream ones, like the Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, and others, are worse than the extremists. The extremists are, by their very nature, isolated.
“Even more unlikely that anything any of those talk show guys said would’ve caused him to go postal like he did.”
Why? If what Rush says doesn’t affect anyone, then the GOP wouldn’t suck up to him. Hell, if what people say doesn’t affect others, there would be no celebrity spokespeople.
Dennis: “Should’ve proofread that before hit the Submit button. Meant to say…”
Yeah. I understood you. I’m 90% sure Duros did as well. The point still stands, Fox News is helping mainstream extremist views.
So, no, Duros, for a guy this extreme, he’d likely come away from watching anything on Fox feeling very frustrated that they didn’t go far enough in their hyperbole.
Which is why it was so awesome when Dick Morris finally told him that his paranoid fantasies actually had some basis in reality:

“So, no, Duros, for a guy this extreme, he’d likely come away from watching anything on Fox feeling very frustrated that they didn’t go far enough in their hyperbole.”
fafaroo: “Which is why it was so awesome when Dick Morris finally told him that his paranoid fantasies actually had some basis in reality:”
They are mainstreaming crazy and feeding it in order to make money.
Which is why it was so awesome when Dick Morris finally told him that his paranoid fantasies actually had some basis in reality: fafaroo
So awesome??? Three young policemen are dead, fafaroo. There’s nothing awesome about that. Nothing.
Do you really think this guy was watching Neil Cavuto interview Dick Morris, and what Morris said made him feel justified in what he was about to do? If you do, you owe it to society and to the families of the slain to call the Pittsburgh police department right now and notify them of it.
Do you really think this guy was watching Neil Cavuto interview Dick Morris, and what Morris said made him feel justified in what he was about to do?
I have no idea whether the guy saw the clip or how it might have effected him. I also think the only person responsible for his actions was the guy himself.
But please, Dennis, let’s not pretend, as you are inclined to do, that Fox News doesn’t trade in pretty hardcore paranoia when it wants to.
But please, Dennis, let’s not pretend, as you are inclined to do, that Fox News doesn’t trade in pretty hardcore paranoia when it wants to. fafaroo
But fafaroo, that’s not the meme being pushed here the last two days, was it, starting from about two hours after the incident up to now, and likely not even close to being exhausted. Far from it.
But fafaroo, that’s not the meme being pushed here the last two days, was it …
Dennis, what the hell are you talking about? Fox traffics in paranoia often enough to fit the bill.
fafaroo: “Which is why it was so awesome when Dick Morris finally told him that his paranoid fantasies actually had some basis in reality.”
Dennis: “So awesome??? Three young policemen are dead, fafaroo. There’s nothing awesome about that. Nothing.”
… Shut the fuck up, Dennis. You are stupid, and this post proves it. Fafaroo was being facetious, and the fact that you couldn’t get that shows you shouldn’t be talking about these maters. You just don’t have the intellectual skill to handle it.
Fafaroo: “But please, Dennis, let’s not pretend, as you are inclined to do, that Fox News doesn’t trade in pretty hardcore paranoia when it wants to.”
Dennis: “But fafaroo, that’s not the meme being pushed here the last two days, was it…”
Yes it is.
Or are you arguing that because we didn’t mention Neil Cavuto and Dick Morris by name on day one they are not part of the problem?
Shut the fuck up, Dennis. You are stupid, and this post proves it. Fafaroo was being facetious, and the fact that you couldn’t get that shows you shouldn’t be talking about these maters. You just don’t have the intellectual skill to handle it. Southern Strategy
Why don’t you shut the fuck up, Strowbridge, you fucking idiot. How the hell do you know what he was thinking when he said that, the same way you know what Poplawski was thinking when he decided to start shooting? You guys have spent the last 2 1/2 days solid treating this shooting as if it is indeed ‘awesome’; that it proves you’re paranoid theories you’ve been spewing for some time now.
Not fafaroo, not you, not Oliver, not anyone has stated their sympathies for the fallen officers, so how was I supposed to know he was being facetious, especially when he came out of nowhere with this irrelevant video clip?
You’re a moron, Strowbridge. This post proves it.
Dennis: “Why don’t you shut the fuck up, Strowbridge, you fucking idiot. How the hell do you know what he was thinking when he said that…”
How do I know he was being facetious? Because I’m not an idiot!
You can’t handle such language, because you are stupid. This is also the reason why you are a conservative. You look at the world in black and white, and use only literal interpretations, because you can’t handle trying to interpret shades of gray.
“You guys have spent the last 2 1/2 days solid treating this shooting as if it is indeed ‘awesome’; that it proves you’re paranoid theories you’ve been spewing for some time now.”
Projection. Pure 100% projection.
Not fafaroo, not you, not Oliver, not anyone has stated their sympathies for the fallen officers, so how was I supposed to know he was being facetious, especially when he came out of nowhere with this irrelevant video clip?
I believe the above a good example of what the kids call “a flounder.”
Not fafaroo, not you, not Oliver, not anyone has stated their sympathies for the fallen officers,
I rather thought this went without saying, amigo.
Actually, I expressed my fears of something like this happening a few threads ago, and mentioned how tragic it would be for the family and friends of the murdered.
But what Parthenon said. Even if I hadn’t expressed condolences, it kind of goes without saying that this was tragic.
But please Dennis, continue to try and change the subject away from the fact that a young, disturbed man, due to a combination of circumstances, went off the deep end and murdered three cops. Among said circumstances, losing his job was probably the biggest factor. But you can’t deny that he was deeply affected by NRA and Glenn Beck propaganda involving a conspiracy theory by scary Mooslim Obama to take America’s guns away. And that a sitting Republican Congressperson (Bachmann) told her constituents that they should “take up arms.” And that Erik the Asshole at Redstate has been doing his tough-guy impersonation about the need for wing-nuts to get violent with liberals.
You’ll continue to deny it I know, because you have no shame. But feel free to look around America right now and see what other people are thinking about this and the Right Wing Smear Machine and what it has wrought. Hell, I’d be interested to see you try and explain what Glenn Beck and the NRA and Bachmann are had been saying leading up to the murders to the wives and children of the deceased.
Among said circumstances, losing his job was probably the biggest factor. Jaim
He was a loser in just about everything, Jaim, not just his job. So was his yun’zer mother, who held the door open and told police he wasn’t armed.
But you can’t deny that he was deeply affected by NRA and Glenn Beck propaganda involving a conspiracy theory by scary Mooslim Obama to take America’s guns away. And that a sitting Republican Congressperson (Bachmann) told her constituents that they should “take up arms.”
Ridiculous cause and effect between what Bachmann said and what made him do what he did. He already had the arms, he already had his problems, he already had his anger. What you are doing is exhibiting the same conspiracy theory paranoia. Let’s see if this quote by Bachmann is brought up in court when this poor soul gets his trial. And if so, just how fast it gets shot down.
And that Erik the Asshole at Redstate has been doing his tough-guy impersonation about the need for wing-nuts to get violent with liberals.
Was Erik doing something along the lines of what Obama did as a candidate when he told his supporters to “get in their faces”, Jaim. Wasn’t that a direct order to liberals and liberal bloggers to get as nasty as you wanna be?
And Jaim, you keep repeating the Beck conspiracy theory that he was saying ‘Obama wants to take our guns away’. Do you have a quote on that? Because it’s not in the Niewert blog post where he claims he said that and linked to the Fox interview of him and LaPierre discussing Holder’s comments on the assault weapons ban.
So, no, Duros, for a guy this extreme, he’d likely come away from watching anything on Fox feeling very frustrated that they didn’t go far enough in their hyperbole.
Frustrated to the point of violence, perhaps? Frustrated enough that he would start a fight over a dog peeing on the rug? Frustrated enough that that fight would escalate to cops being called and an armed stand-off that left 3 cops dead?
Just asking questions.
You guys have spent the last 2 1/2 days solid treating this shooting as if it is indeed ‘awesome’; that it proves you’re paranoid theories you’ve been spewing for some time now.
That’s a fucking lie and you know it. No one NO ONE here thinks it is “awesome.”
Not fafaroo, not you, not Oliver, not anyone has stated their sympathies for the fallen officers, so how was I supposed to know he was being facetious,
Because we don’t need to say it to know it. It goes without saying. We grieve for the families of the fallen. In our own way.
So, no, Duros, for a guy this extreme, he’d likely come away from watching anything on Fox feeling very frustrated that they didn’t go far enough in their hyperbole.
Not for lack of effort on Ailes’ part, I’m sure.
Amazing how far some on this board will go to defend principle. A wingnut will foment armed insurrection–qv Bachmann (that’s CONGRESSWOMAN Bachmann), Libby, et al–and the Jays and Dennises of the world likely would defend them as “principled.”
Being faithful to a curdled ideology turns virtue into vice. It’s also the MO of the right.
What. The. Fuck?
