A suicide pact is when both parties agree to kill themselves. The situation between Rush and the Republican party is more akin to being in a stagecoach being chased by wolves. The weight is slowing down the stagecoach, and the wolves are getting closer. Both passengers know that one of them has to go, or they’ll both end up getting eaten by wolves. The Republican party blinked, giving Rush a chance to throw them out. The Republican party gets eaten by wolves, and Rush make it home safe.

Limbaugh has these people by the testicles. They need to praise him for their base, and that just gives Democrats endless video mix ammo for the majority of the country that detests him.

Any trolling minstrels care to wax eloquent on Mr. Limbaugh’s contributions to our society?

    No?

Ironic that the most fanatic rightwingers here won’t defend the OxyContin Messiah and Viagra Vagabond, but he owns them just as surely as George Steinbrenner owns the Yankees.

RULES FOR RADICALS #12: …(Adhered to)

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

    RULE #7….(Not adhered to)

“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

    Wrong again, Dennis.

Nobody wants to cut Mr. Limbaugh off from his support network. We want his support network to embrace him…sing his praises.

    Just like Cantor is doing.

  5. ed says:

Rush Limbaugh is a racist asshole.

  6. Jaim says:

It’s beautiful. Rahm Emanuel deserves an award. Just let the Republican party die under the smothering influence of Dear Leader Rushbo. Just keep bringing his name up about every two weeks or so.

The Republicans can’t quit him because as a racist, drug-addicted, hypocritical asshole, he is the heart and soul of the modern Republican Party.

  7. You guys look at this Rules For Radicals like its the sacred texts. To be honest, we used to look at your tactics as if they were the work of brilliant tacticians as well, but we didn’t think they were any kind of gospel.

Plus, all the answers are on page 42. It’s your quest to find WHICH BOOK.

Dennis, this is why you are a Republican. We can fool you with the same trick every day.

Far from wanting to isolate Mr. Limbaugh, I want nothing more than success for him. I want his face on TV and I want everyone to hear what he has to say. I want to see the GOP leadership kiss his gargantuan buttocks and I want everyone to know who runs the Republican Party.

Because 28% of America is not a political force, and letting Limbaugh run the GOP guarantees success for Democrats for many cycles to come.

    You GO Rush!

BTW Dennis, what do you suppose he needed all that Viagra for in the Dominican Republic?

  9. Randy Brown says:

Limbaugh is said to have 20 million listeners every week. Which comes to 4 million per day, and that’s likely to be the same 4 million.

Never mind that Obama won the election with about 70 million votes. McCain received about 60 million votes. (Not counting, of course, those Republicans who voted for Obama and other candidates, or who didn’t vote at all.)

Thus, Limbaugh’s estimated daily listenership amounts to less than ten percent of the GOP electorate.

    Think about it!!

Using a page out of your playbook…

You’re complaining. That must mean you are scared.

  12. RJMathews says:

I actually don’t like the ad very much. The problem is that the “I hope he fails” comment was made awhile ago and is getting stale, and it’s a four word clip, free of context. Sometimes I see GOP propaganda (nothing specific comes to mind…it’s 1am) and think “this is aimed at people who know about a bunch of trivial crap thanks to visiting Memeorandum every day”. I feel like this ad is banking on people knowing about Rush’s comment, and still caring. Polls show Rush is broadly disliked, so it makes sense to target him. I’d like to see better. No doubt both he and Cantor have said (recently even) plenty of other shit that would be unpopular with most Americans. It’s what they does for a living.

I would enjoy it if somehow someone could put something together from “Joe” the “Plumber”’s interview with Keystone Progress where he essentially admitted to being a clueless imbecile who doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about.

  13. Robert says:

Oh, please, let the RNC continue to defend, protect and preserve the Rushbo. Give Jindal a radio show too, and let Michelle Bachmann and Palin appear on it REGULARLY.

I must be absolutely terrified of these people, I want them in the public eye so much.
