Another Poll Shows: GOP Attacks On Obama Not Working

The people in this country have been thirsty for real leadership. We have it now in Barack Obama.

By a two-to-one margin, Americans trust Mr. Obama more than congressional Republicans to get the nation out of its financial fix, and that’s even though they oppose his bailouts of banks and auto companies.

And that’s why the new GOP attempt to portray the Obama administration’s $1 trillion effort to buy bad bank loans and keep auto companies afloat for now as a “major power grab,” as Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee put it, isn’t likely to stick anytime soon.

    Guess folks are still angry at people in power. Of course, that’s a problem for Democrats since they’re the only ones that are actually *IN* power right now.

    So Farris, are you saying that Obama’s popularity is good news for the GOP? And the impression the public has that the GOP is corrupt and incompetent, the impression that cost them all those elections, is also good for the GOP?

    Repack, the difference is that Republicans aren’t in power unlike last time. Last November, the electorate rose up as a mass and said “Vote the Bums Out”. And they did. Now, this poll shows that they’re still dissatisfied with who’s in power. When the electorate Votes the Bums Out Again in 2010/2012, who’s going to be on the receiving end? And who benefits?
