CSS is very powerful, Oliver, but there is definitely a learning curve. Could you take a class in it? It’s valuable to know.

As people move away from IE6 (and IE7, eventually), there will be fewer hacks necessary.

Well css has no real replacement for tables so that’s no surprise.

I like this design in terms of articles, content, readability, and navigation. Especially when compared to the newer ones you’ve tried.

Yeah I used to use Drupal. It was a nightmare. Completely user unfriendly. I understand the utility of CSS, but it just presents way too much variables – in my mind – for someone flying solo like me to deal with at this point.

My idea was to code up something simple and clean myself and it looked fine on multiple browsers and platforms, but clearly it was borked.

No way tables looked so clunky and old. I use drupal for my blog and they use blocks to sort out content. you should check drupal out.

What are you using to design it? Are these all Word Press templates, or are you constructing it off line?
