“Not being more critical” is the least of the charges that could be leveled against such high asshattery.

The false story originated at a conservative media outlet and then a conservative commentator constructed an alternate reality in order to keep the lie alive.

But Oliver is saying those guys made it up, and that they are the Conservatives who did so.
