Michele Bachmann

Both parties, especially in the hyper-partisan House, elect goobers. But Michele Bachmann is an amazingly idiotic goober.

Spectacular stupid: Michele Bachmann.

She’s my very most favorite goober. She crazy!

  3. Dennis says:

When it comes to idiocy in the House, first place prize goes to Maxine Waters.

  4. Jay Tea says:

Dang, Dennis beat me to it. Maxine Waters takes first, second, AND third:

    Bachmann is an historic Fail . . . .
    (and you know it Dennis.)

  6. Jaim says:

I’ll happily take Maxine Waters, a fringer, to the Republican base these days represented by Bachmann.

  7. Jay Tea says:

Fine with me, Jaim. While you’re at it, take the mainstream Democratic Congressional leadership — Charlie Rangel, Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy…

Tea (You call me “Rotter” so I’ll call you that), name me one time when any of the Democrats you mentioned say that people need to be “armed and dangerous” about an issue, as Michelle Bachmann Turner Overdrive has done (and no, I don’t care if she was being figurative, it was still a ridiculous thing to say. Imagine the response from the folks at the Fox “News” Channel and their ilk if a Democratic congressperson had said that people need to be “armed and dangerous” about opposing the Iraq War or tax cuts for the wealthiest of Americans or efforts to repeal Roe vs. Wade, etc.).

The expressions on the face of the young lady behind Geithner’s right shoulder are priceless. When he answers the first time she’s not really paying attention. Then when the esteemed Congresswoman from MN asks the same question she’s looking around her as if to say “Is anyone else hearing this?” Then on the third try she has raised her eyebrows in incredulity. Nice.

Isn’t it amazing to see how, when Republican’ts are shown an example of a deranged person who’s a Republican’t, the first thing they do is start talking about someone else altogether? I did not see Maxine Waters mentioned once by anyone here until the Rush Limbaugh Brigade started talking about it. There followed a list of Democratic politicians that OW’s resident teabagger mentioned that, for some strange reason, are thought to be relevant when discussing the full goose bozo who is a Republican’t Gawd Squadder from Minnesota. And, amazingly enough, there has not been one word of comment about the statements of Ms. Bachmann by the Republican’t enablers here.

I’m sure there are a few other examples of Republican’t crazy who have been quite crazy over the past eight years that could have been mentioned by the Teabagger. Funny how he skipped right over them and went to the Democratic politicians who have supposedly said something close to the full blown insanity issuing from Bachmann. Even though pretty much everybody he mentioned hasn’t even come close to the unbridled lunacy from Bachmann. Why, it’s almost as though he’s selectively outraged, and anyone can do or say anything as long as it’s in support of the Republican’t cause.

Twenty five years plus now I’ve seen the same old (very bad) song and dance from the Republican’ts. Here’s hoping they keep on digging up like this. I’ve never liked the show, but just this once I could stay and watch them get egged off the stage…

Yeah, I noticed that Dennis and Tea didn’t actually defend or even mention the words of Michelle Bachmann Turner Overdrive that led Oliver to (quite accurately) characterize her as an “amazingly idiotic gooper.” The woman is so toxic that in her two congressional elections, she only squeaked by with 50% and 46%, respectively, even though her district is about as Republican as Italy is Catholic.

Palin-Bachmann in 2012! That would be the dream ticket!

Like I said, I’ll take the heads of the Congressional Dem leadership over the mainstream Republican kooks any day.

    You know who else will?

The vast majority of the American people.

Have fun being irrelevant for the next eight years Jay.

    Fail

Unfavorables Remain High For Congressional Leaders

Nearly two months into an historic session of Congress wrestling with one of the nation’s severest economic crises, voters have not changed their opinions of major congressional leaders from both parties.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also continues to be the best known of the bunch.

Thirty-six percent (36%) of voters have a favorable opinion of Pelosi, the congresswoman from San Francisco, including 15% whose view of her is Very Favorable, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

But most voters (53%) regard Pelosi unfavorably, with 37% who have a Very Unfavorable opinion of her. Only 11% are not sure what they think of the speaker.

Fellow Democrat Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, is viewed favorably by 29%, with just six percent (6%) Very Favorable, and unfavorably by 42%, including 26% with a Very Unfavorable view of him. But 30% still don’t know enough about the Nevada senator to have an opinion.

And don’t forget that ratings for President Teleprompter, the leader of the Democrap (hi Tom!) party, are steadily falling (almost as fast as the DJIA on his watch).

  18. Crusty Dem says:

Jeebus Jay, genius comparison. Maxine is clearly confused and lost about the details of AIG vs Bear Sterns vs Goldman Sachs, while Michelle is clearly confused and lost about the US Constitution and the role of the HER OWN BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT! She’s using the same logic as those morons who don’t pay their income tax! They’re crazy, but I’ll give them a bit more of a pass, since they’re not in congress.

  19. Michael Over Here says:

Bachmann is a Republican rising star, she’s constantly on TV. I’m pretty wonky and I’ve never even heard of Maxine Waters. So your “LOOK OVER THERE” is also a false equivalency.

  20. Michael Over Here says:

I love how Dave in SoCal leaves out the very next paragraph in the article he linked:

For the two Republican leaders, the news is even worse. Twenty-six percent (26%) have a favorable view of House Minority Leader John Boehner, with six percent (6%) Very Favorable. Thirty-one percent (31%) see him unfavorably, including 10% who have a Very Unfavorable opinion of the Ohio congressman.

The article goes on in detail about how terrible things are for Republicans right now, including how their stands against recent Obama initiatives aren’t ingratiating them to the public.

  21. Quaker in a Basement says:

And don’t forget that ratings for President Teleprompter, the leader of the Democrap (hi Tom!) party, are steadily falling (almost as fast as the DJIA on his watch).

You been away for the last week or so?

  22. Jaim says:

Who runs Congress right now? Which party got their guy elected president?

Beyond that, Congressional Dems are more popular then Congressional Republicans.

But please, continue to make fun of Reid and Pelosi while the Dems continue to actually win elections. Because at the end of the day, it’s really more important to consider who made the better funnies.

  23. Carlos says:

Where were Bachmann’s questions on Constitutional authority when the last administration was ass-raping it?

  24. Duros62 says:

Well, whaddya know, another attention whore.

Dave in So Cal: “And don’t forget that ratings for President Teleprompter, the leader of the Democrap (hi Tom!) party, are steadily falling (almost as fast as the DJIA on his watch).”

So I can assume you thought Bush was a failure when his approval rating dropped below 50%? Or were you sill supporting him when he dropped below 30%?

  27. Robert says:

Oh, good, the old ‘Congress is unpopular’ meme (funny how polls only count one way). The ongoing conundrum about such polls is this: when people are asked ‘what do you think of Congress’ the usual answer is ‘it sucks’ (which is accurate, most of the time). When the question is ‘what do you think of who YOUR representative is?’ the answer is usually ‘oh, s/he is great, but those OTHER clodpolls – why do they keep getting re-relected?’ E.g., Nancy Pelosi is quite popular in San Francisco, but not in Tulsa. My own Congresswoman is Barbara Lee, new head of the Congressional Black Caucus. She’ll keep getting re-elected unless she’s caught in bed with a dead boy or a live girl, and maybe even then.

  28. daniel rotter says:

In a bipartisan gesture, as a Democrat, I’ll name some goobers in the House on my side: the already mentioned Maxine Waters, Jim McDermot, Bobby Rush and Pete “Why bother thinking before speaking?” Stark.
