Alaska Legislators Actually Care About Alaska, Not Palin 2012

palinThey’ll be taking the stimulus and ignoring their silly national joke of a governor.

Top Alaska legislators said Tuesday they’re likely to accept at least most of the federal economic stimulus money that Gov. Sarah Palin did not.

“I think at the end of the day we will end up taking most of the funds,” said Anchorage Republican Rep. Mike Hawker, who is leading the House effort on the stimulus as co-chairman of the finance committee.

Senate Majority Leader Johnny Ellis agreed. “I would be surprised if we give up much or any of the federal money,” the Anchorage Democrat said.

They don’t need it? Really? Fine.

Of course, you know that because….

That’s right! Alaska doesn’t need money to improve education. That $170 million for education, for example. There isn’t anything we could do to improve the education of our citizens. We think 44th place is plenty good enough!

I didn’t realize Alaska was such a liberal state. After all, EVERYONE there gets a government check every year.

As for your ‘point’… What part of the stimulus should the Alaskan people do without?

BTW, the “nice pic, Oliver” was in reference to yours, not Failin’ Palin.

I guess EVERY RESIDENT of AL doesn’t need that oil subsidy money, huh?

    Jaim: “Republicans = Party First.”

It’s one of the four pillars of the modern Republican party.

    The others are…

Us vs. Them – It doesn’t matter who you find to fit the spot, but you need a ‘Them’. The can be foreigners (Nazis, Commies, Islamofacists, France, etc.) or it could be fellow Americans (Gays, Blacks, Muslims, etc.)

Everything is good for Republicans – August’s webcomic sums it up great with his ‘Conservative post-fight analysis’, but you also see it a lot with the, ‘If you are laughing at us, that means you’re scared!’ meme.

Problems are Political Tools, or, Use ‘Em but Never Solve ‘Em – Do you think Roe vs. Wade will ever be overturned? Are the Republicans even talking about illegal immigration now that it is not an election year?
