    Republicans are in a rough spot here, for sure. I went to a budget hearing with two Oregon reps the other day; there was all the usual ‘firing up the printing presses, hyuk yuk yuk’ and then ten minutes later they went on to tell everyone how the stimulus would be helping keep all their pet projects funded.

    The gap between their principles and reality is widening. How far can that bridge of cognitive dissonance stretch?
