That article is incredibly short on details and has no back up on the accusation of two people being charged. You act as though your incredibly biased sources are decent even though they've been incredibly wrong before. When you make terrible accusations against organizations that are attempting to protect powerless Americans with out any backing up then you are a liar. You've yet to show a single illegal charge against ACORN the organization. You've also yet to show a credible source for any charge you've made.

<i>That’s why I’m calling for a RICO investigation.</i>

Are you now? Let me know how that goes, senator.

Gee, I'm so ashamed. You busted me, Michael. I tried to sneak that past you, and I did manage to sneak the "rottenacorn.com" in the URL past you TWICE, but your Google Fu has foiled me. Drat and curses.

So, let's see... here's a news story about ACORN hiring felons to register voters: wcco.com/local/felon.voter.registry.2.830275.html

And no, ACORN has not been formally charged as of yet. And it's not likely to, considering how close they are to the current administration. That's why I'm calling for a RICO investigation.

I also linked to the story about them organizing and training people to break and enter into foreclosed homes. Nothing to say about that?

You're awful long on saying nasty things about me, but short about finding substantive rebuttals, Michael. While you're Googling, look up "Sound and Fury." Fits you to a tee.

I googled that for you Jay Tea and found that you quoted it from a website that specializes solely in attacking ACORN:
http://www.rottenacorn.com/activityMap.html#wi

Hm, and they don't show any sources either. Further searching leads only to sources that are only quoting rottenacorn.com or have been disproved in the factcheck.org article I linked to. Simple questions arise such as, who are these 2 people? Are the 2 people the convicted felons? Did the felons lie about being convicted? Not much you can do about that besides turn them in once ACORN figures it out. Also note that ACORN the organization itself isn't being charged with anything in this example.

Your previous comments have led me to question the veracity of everything you write Jay Tea and it seems I'm right to do so. Your partisan sources have been incredibly wrong before.

But back to the subject at hand: can anyone cite ANYTHING that puts Operation Rescue in the "terrorist" category?

My apologies, Michael. I didn't place a link on the last one because it was the same source as the prior list -- I thought the same format would give it away. My apologies for overestimating your intelligence.

Here you go:

Better now?

Michael, how about this example, which I didn't quote earlier:

<blockquote>WI 2008 At least 33,000 ACORN-submitted registrations in Milwaukee have been called into question after it was found that the organizations had been using felons as registration workers, in violation of state election rules. Two people involved in the ongoing Wisconsin voter fraud investigation have been charged with felonies.</blockquote>

ACORN was using convicted felons as voter registration workers, in contradiction of the law.

Sheesh, you must be part Weeble. I keep knocking down your bullshit arguments, you keep popping back up with new ones.

Can anyone contradict the following statments?

* The vast majority of unplanned pregnancies are the result of people consensually engaging in the activity that leads to pregnancy.

* The vast majority of new AIDS infections are the result of the victims engaging in activity that they know puts them at risk of infection.

* The vast majority of people facing mortgage foreclosure willingly signed voluminous piles of documents specifying precisely what the mortgage entailed and outlined the penalties for defaulting thereof.

* The vast majority of current members of the military currently serving in Iraq either signed up after the Iraq invasion or re-enlisted since.

In each case, there is an element of personal choice involved in it. And in each case, there is a howling from certain circles to deny those people the right to be responsible for those choices.

At no point did I advocate any kind of "penalty" or "punishment" or any consequence whatsoever for those choices. Nor do I. I just thought it important to acknowledge that, in the vast majority of cases, these circumstances were not akin to being struck by lightning or spontaneously combusting. There were choices made by those individuals that contributed to their current circumstances.

Jay Tea, were ACORN charge with anything ILLEGAL?

The mechanism you speak of is the same mechanism that ANYONE COLLECTING VOTER REGISTRATION must abide by. You legally must submit all filled out voter registration forms. THAT'S THE LAW.

You're the one using the word ILLEGAL. It's in your first post. That is the lie. Voter fraud is illegal. Voter registration fraud isn't even a concept really. Where has ACORN, the organization, been convicted of anything ILLEGAL? Your word. Not mine.

Sheesh, Michael, you're certainly in love with "the L word." You toss it around like a hot potato -- which is especially ironic, considering how far you had your head up your ass the first time you tossed it around. You remember -- it was when you decided to rewrite what I wrote, and then call me a liar for something I didn't say. Less charitable folks than me would call you a "liar," but I'll just say you're a stupid asshole and say that you were too dumb to see the difference.

And since when is voter registration fraud a "victimless crime?" Who pays the salaries of the public officials who have to wade through thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of bogus registrations?

Let's go back to Lake County. ACORN dumped over 5,000 voter registration forms on them right before the deadline. County workers spent hours and hours plowing through them, checking each and every one, until they had reached about 2,100 bogus ones and NOT ONE SINGLE VALID ONE. Did ACORN offer to pay the county for their wasted time and efforts?

I thought not.

ACORN has set up a mechanism that not only tolerates voter registration fraud, but encourages and subsidizes it. Just because they don't spell it out, they have created an "attractive nuisance" and need to be held liable for their actions.

And just because their machinations benefit Democrats, that doesn't mean they should get a pass. It probably does, but it shouldn't.

So your complaining about voter registration fraud? A completely victimless crime. Especially, as has been shown, ACORN goes out of it's way to mark every single invalid registration as invalid but still has to turn them in to the government because it's illegal to tamper with voter registrations once they're filled out.

You're a liar Jay Tea. Do you have any non-biased links where ACORN the organization was convicted of voter fraud and not just dishonest volunteers looking to scam ACORN. See, that's the lie. You're a liar who gets all of his talking points from dishonest talk radio and terrible misinformed blogs.

Jack J., let me explain it to you. I'll even try to use small words.

I said that ACORN had committed massive (I'm sorry) a lot of VOTER REGISTRATION fraud. That means that they had turned in a lot of voter forms that were filled with made-up stuff.

Michael Over There gave a link to Factcheck.org that showed that ACORN had not been convicted of VOTER fraud -- that's people voting when and where they shouldn't.

I thanked him nicely for the link, then showed a bunch of times ACORN had been caught turning in false voter registration forms -- just the thing I said that they had done.

I also found one case where ACORN DID help someone commit VOTER FRAUD, but I chose to let that one go -- I felt bad enough for Michael already.

If you need it made any clearer, step away from the computer and find a grownup to explain it to you.

Funny, I thought it was 2009.

Steve, send the asshole to jail. Same response to ANYONE who screws around with elections.

I got a front-row seat of that kind of bullshit in 2002, when the New Hampshire Republican Party was caught hiring a telemarketer to jam the Democrats' "get out the vote" phone lines on election day. Eventually, several GOP officials went to prison and the state party was fined pretty heftily. I thought they were treated too leniently.

I'm consistent. ANYONE who asses around with elections needs to spend time in Poundass Prison. Sproul, NH Republicans, and ACORN scumbags.

Is that the best you got -- "we shouldn't talk about ACORN's crimes, because some Republicans have broken laws, too?"

Grumpy, the sources I cited all gave enough details to individually confirm each of their allegations. I doubt I could find a source that you'd consider "unbiased," but I spot-checked a couple of the allegations and they held up.

I'd start posting examples of republican voter fraud, but they would take up much more space on Oliver's site than JT has.

So I'll just leave <a href="http://baltimorechronicle.com/070505Miller-Irmus.shtml" rel="nofollow">one example</a>.

Jaim, here are a few examples:

<blockquote>AR 1998 A contractor with ACORN-affiliated Project Vote was arrested for falsifying about 400 voter registration cards.
CO 2005 Two ex-ACORN employees were convicted in Denver of perjury for submitting false voter registrations.

2007 Four ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City for charges including identity theft and filing false registrations during the 2006 election.

MO 2007 Four ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City for charges including identity theft and filing false registrations during the 2006 election.
2006 Eight ACORN employees in St. Louis were indicted on federal election fraud charges. Each of the eight faces up to five years in prison for forging signatures and submitting false information.

MN 2004 During a traffic stop, police found more than 300 voter registration cards in the trunk of a former ACORN employee, who had violated a legal requirements that registration cards be submitted to the Secretary of State within 10 days of being filled out and signed.

NV 2008 Nevada state authorities raided ACORN's Las Vegas headquarters as part of a task force investigation of election fraud. Fraudulent registrations included players from the Dallas Cowboys.

OH	2007 A man in Reynoldsburg was indicted on two felony counts of illegal voting and false registration, after being registered by ACORN to vote in two separate counties.
2004 A grand jury indicted a Columbus ACORN worker for submitting a false signature and false voter registration form. In Franklin County, two ACORN workers submitted what the director of the board of election supervisors called “blatantly false” forms. In Cuyahoga County, ACORN and its affiliate Project Vote submitted registration cards that had the highest rate of errors for any voter registration group.

PA	2008 An ACORN employee in West Reading, PA, was sentenced to up to 23 months in prison for identity theft and tampering with records. A second ACORN worker pleaded not guilty to the same charges and is free on $10,000 bail.

WA 2007 Three ACORN employees pleaded guilty, and four more were charged, in the worst case of voter registration fraud in Washington state history. More than 2,000 fraudulent voter registration cards were submitted by the group during a voter registration drive.</blockquote>

Since we don't have another election for a little while, they're keeping busy with organizing breaking and entering:

<blockquote>Near Patterson Park, the padlock on the door and the sign in the window tell part of Donna Hanks foreclosure story.

"The mortgage went up $300 in one month," said Hanks, former homeowner.

She says the bank refused to modify her loan and foreclosed, kicking her out of the house in September.

The community group ACORN calls Hanks a victim of predatory lending.

"This is our house now," said Louis Beverly, ACORN.

And on Thursday afternoon, they literally broke the foreclosure padlock right off the front door and then broke into the house, letting Hanks back in for the first time in months.

"We are actually trespassing, and so this is a way of civil disobedience to try to stay in the house," said Beverly. "Legally it's wrong, but homesteading is the only means that she has left to stay in her house. And we feel as though this is the right thing to do at this particular time to save this family."</blockquote>

Unsurprisingly, the woman ACORN chose to be their public face of this new move was less than candid in how she explained how she was foreclosed upon:

No, they're not terrorists. But wouldn't a RICO investigation be appropriate? Wouldn't it have been appropriate years ago? Wouldn't it be a good thing before they start applying their screening standards -- sharpened in countless voter registration drives over the years -- to helping hire Census workers?

Oh, that's right. They're very reliable Democratic allies, so that makes it all OK.

Michael, thanks for the link showing that neither ACORN nor its volunteers have ever been convicted of voting fraud.

Of course, that wasn't what I accused them of, so it's utterly irrelevant, but it's a very nice link nonetheless. (Pat on head)

I said voter REGISTRATION fraud, and there have been numerous convictions of ACORN staffers for that charge. For example, last year in Lake County, Illinois, ACORN submitted over 5,000 registrations. County officials waded through over 2,100 of them without finding a SINGLE valid one, and just trashed the rest.

Here's a pretty good summary of ACORN convictions for voter registration fraud: /pajamasmedia.com/blog/the-complete-guide-to-acorn-voter-fraud/

So, Michael, what's the term for claiming I said something I didn't say?
