Their claim is that you blamed Obama for the drop in the DOW from the time he took office till it bottomed out. And their quotes show this to be true. You did blame Obama for the drop in the DOW.

This argument is based almost entirely on miscommunication. No one is claiming that you are blaming Obama for the drop in the DOW from its peak at 14,000 to under 7000. All you need to do is say, ‘It certainly sounded like they did.’ and the argument ends. It is your fault, but at least it ends.

I can’t remember if it was you, Jay Caruso, or J.G.Thayer who I had that argument with in the beginning. However, in the end, the person I was arguing with said Freddie Mae was responsible because they helped people buy low priced homes (there is a limit on the price of a home Fannie Mac will insure) which therefore increased the prices of all home. In that case, ALL economic transactions helped create the housing bubble, because all economics transactions are linked. You buying a DVD helped someone stay employed, which means someone bought a home they wouldn’t otherwise buy.

Perhaps saying they had nothing to do with it was too strong of language; however, they were not the primary cause, nor even a secondary cause.
