It’s always amazing to me how you do that. Do something (like make a baseless accusation) and then turn around and complain about people who do exactly what you just did.

One more example of the insider culture of Washington. So Greta’s hubby–and maybe Greta too?–is a Palin pal? So what?

That sort of thing used to raise eyebrows in media circles, once upon a time. But these days, it’s not unusual at all. Bob Somerby has documented palling around between Gwen Ifill and Condi Rice; between Ted Koppel and Colin Powell; between Tim Russert and just about anyone in power.

Should media people (or their families) socialize or do business with the people they cover? I feel strongly they shouldn’t.

Of course, I’m an old geezer.

1) Sullivan has an obsession when it comes to Palin that long passed the “borderline pathological” a while ago — he was the leader in the “Trig is really her grandson” movement, and as far as I know still is pushing it.

Yes, Excitable Andrew, noted OB-GYN expert, is quoting the Washington Post verbatim, but note the distancing — “others familiar… insist.” No one on record saying it.

Could still be true. Might even be worth looking into. But it’s too damned thin to hang anything on right now.
