Oh dear. I thought it would be pretty clear but there’s one in every crowd.
Oliver lives in Maryland (in suburban DC). In this area – Md and Virginia – a horse means the horsey set. Middleburg. Big white houses on long green lawns, gracious living, fox hunts, show jumping. White britches and red riding coats.
In California, horses mean cowboy hats and jeans. Riding the range. The big sky.
The class image is entirely different.
