Tyro: Also, Oliver, I do think you have too many right-wing trolls in the comments section, but ultimately I have to agree with your policies: when guys like Dwight appear, you realize that it’s all worth it for those moments.

I just wish we had more right wing who weren’t trolls. Seriously, it’s fish in a barrel sometimes. And I really wish there was someone here who could argue well for the right. Personally, I like having to thoughtfully defend my views against someone thoughtfully promoting theirs.

Precisely, and we can judge people based on their taste in books, just like we judge them based on their voting patterns and moral judgment.

There’s a reason you want to read someone’s memoirs– because there’s the potential that they’ll say something interesting. It’s why people bought Gov. McGreevey’s book. It’s why people bought the Clintons’ memoirs. But Bush? Just a banal item used as a totem by the Bush worshippers.

I would be interested to see how many handlers it will take for George to “write” a book. Obama can write, and has done so, not only books but legal opinions.
