  2. Crusty Dem says:

Who will last longer, Jim Cramer or Michael Steele?

This is 100x more devastating than Stewart’s appearance on Crossfire. The only reason Cramer might survive is that NBC has so much more invested in him than CNN did in Crossfire. Can anyone watch him again and trust anything he says? Of course, I don’t really understand why anyone would have ever have trusted him in the first place…

  3. jose hipants says:

That was sweet. Cramer must have never seen Jon in action before.
Maybe Joe Scarborough would like to be next?

  4. Jaim says:

I’ll give Cramer credit for going on with Stewart (and of course, to Stewart for having Cramer on).

But man, getting pwned by a comedian who’s more knowledgeable about your field than you are? Who could ever take his stock picks seriously?

  5. Crusty Dem says:

I don’t think there’s any way Stewart is more knowledgeable than Cramer, he’s just in the position of not being caught spouting garbage for the last several years. Cramer is a crook, and Stewart had more than enough material to destroy him. I enjoyed the way Stewart softened him up in the first segment before dropping the boom at the beginning of the second; I’m sure Cramer thought he was going to come out unscathed, no such luck. Additionally, the cuts on the show definitely do not help Cramer (not that they’re dishonest, but most of Cramer’s more effective dodging and weaving was left on the cutting room floor).

  6. sharan says:

i like the fact that Jon made it a serious episode of it and hats of to Cramer for comming on and exposing the whole fiancial debacle. There would’nt have been a better way to handle the feud in which jon has repeatedly said that it was about the whole system

  7. mambochicken23 says:

I can’t wait for joaquin to come on and tell us that we’re idiots and that Jim Cramer mopped the floor with Jon Stewart.

Holy shit, that was awesome. I mean, that was such a complete annihilation… goddamn, it was artistry.

  8. Parthenon says:

What a great, great interview. Those setups with the clips could not have been timed better. It’s to Cramer’s credit he was a good sport about letting Stewart lead him around the interview by the nose.

  9. ed says:

J-Stew’s much better at interviewing than he used to be. Doesn’t suck up like he used to. He’s a National Treasure. Kind of the opposite of,say, Rush Limbaugh, who is a National Disgrace.

  10. Grumpymann says:

The thing that gets me about this is this is a COMEDY show!
And it was the FIST time I seen someone say “Yeah I fucked up” and “That was and is fucked up”

That was as close to an honest conversation as one can get on the subject with out going to jail.
I have been told by more than one “Money guy” that I know that we were heading for this about a decade.

One guy told me out right. “Companies no longer make money serving costumers. they make their money in the market.”

Another told me “When companies make their money in speculation only speculators get rich.”

I also believe a LOT of folks need to go to jail.

  11. [...] decide what was more fantastic on Thursday night television: Jim Cramer being disemboweled by Jon Stewart or the 6 OT Syracuse – Connecticut basketball game. Maybe Stewart can go 6 rounds with Limbaugh one [...]

  12. Wek says:

This was the beating of beatings of all beatings. Cramer became a human pinata.

  13. Duros62 says:

“Companies no longer make money serving costumers.

Which is odd, considering how popular Superheros are these days. :-)

The proof is gonna be in the pudding for Cramer. He’s been publicly shamed and exposed, and pretty much promised Stewart that he would take his criticism to heart and do better on his show.

Let’s see how that works out.

  14. Jack J. says:

The TV media used to do interviews like this so many years ago. I guess we’ll necer see that again.

Thank God for the John Stewart and his velvet hammer.

  15. Grumpymann says:

    Duros62
Spell checking is a bitch sometimes.

  16. Duros62 says:

Not being snarky, grumps. Just thought that was funny.

  17. Grumpymann says:

    Duros62
    I know, it’s not a problem.

    Peace Be With You.

  18. Duros62 says:

    So say we all.

  19. Quaker in a Basement says:

Hold on, ever’body. I think Mr. ed has spotted the next wingnut hollering point:

Kind of the opposite of,say, Rush Limbaugh, who is a National Disgrace.

And given that they are exact opposites, wingnuts will claim what? Anyone?

Correct! Wingnuts will say they’re exactly alike!

  20. [...] Watch the entire showdown here [...]

  21. Duros62 says:

    “Doucheborough.” Love that.

  22. Jeff says:

WHY IS A COMEDIAN ON COMEDY CENTRAL ASKING THESE QUESTIONS?

  23. pseudonymous in nc says:

Doesn’t suck up like he used to.

I think you’re misremembering. Stewart doesn’t play gotcha with politicians. There is a large “political media” for that. He does go after members of the media who are supposed to be doing their job.

  24. bryan says:

We still have these guys in the UK. Jeremy Paxman, John Simpson, John Humphries. A good bruising by interview is a joy forever. And if the interviewee can give it back, it’s pearls.
