J.G.Thayer: "Perhaps I should qualify. He’s Oliver’s Bizarro. He’s the Oliver from Qward. He’s the anti-matter Oliver. Same attitude, just run through the looking-glass.
Sorry about any confusion."

Wow. Just... wow!

Okay, I'll see if I can explain it to you in small enough words you can understand.

Patrick McHenry is an elected official. That means it is his job to represent his constituents in the federal government. Trying to bring down the approval ratings of the leaders of the majority party is not in his job description because, and this is the key, his job it to work to help all of his constituents, even those who voted against him.

But at least he is being honest, and hopefully after 2010 we will not have to deal with as many people like him.

I'm all for the dead-ender wing-nuts like Jay and his leaders to just keep laying their cards on the table.

Drug-addicted pedophile as their moral and intellectual leader? Yes, no more pussy-footing around.

Republican politicians who have given up on having any positive contribution to America's economic recovery? Yup, that's us. We only live to see America and Obama fail, couldn't give two shits about the real Americans, Republican and Democrat and Independent, who are losing jobs and becoming homeless.

It's kind of like the KKK -- I'm glad it exists, because when I see a redneck in a white hood I know he's racist fuck and a failure at life.

Being a Republican is, to a lesser degree, admitting that you FAIL at civil discourse and contributing to the country's greater good. But at least they're just starting to admit that with Obama in office, their prime directive is to try (and fail, I might add) and slag on the POTUS, and not even give the merest hint of a positive intellectual contribution beyond a) more tax cuts for Paris Hilton and George Soros and b) stop all government spending. While we're fighting two different wars Republicans started but failed to win, let alone resolve.

The party of utter fail. In a sick and twisted way it's kind of fascinating.

Rep. McHenry
what on earth are you nitwits thinking?
we have some serious ,real problems out here in the real world.
do you think for one minute that people sent you to Washington so you could spend your time sabotaging other approval ratings?
thinking like that should earn you a one way ticket out of D.C., because you are NOT doing your best for the people of this nation.
is there such a thing as a negative approval rating?, because, Rep. McHenry, that is what you just got from me.

Our goal is to bring down approval numbers for [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and for House Democrats.

In other words, the goal ISN'T to improve the opinion of Republicans by having better ideas and doing a better job for those you represent. The goal to to drag down the other side.

This isn't even the "It isn't enough that I win, everyone else must lose" attitude. This is just "everyone must lose."

The path taken by those who know they simply can't "win" any other way.

Perhaps I should qualify.

Perhaps you should put your foot even farther up your mouth by trying to justify your ridiculous remarks without lloking like a completely partisan Republicasn't hack? All righty, then...

Sorry about any confusion.

It's entirely on your part - as usual. Thanks for showing us how the Republican'ts try to play the game (and massively fail) once again!

I thought Patrick McHenry's priorities involved young, unmarried men living with him.

Wait, I don't think there's any there there. McHenry's a Republican who, like, totally opposes Gay Marriage. You know, like Mark Foley or Larry Craig. My bad. Although he may like steamroom. Who knows?
