I seriously doubt anyone eating three meals a day could make $20 last a whole week, even with only getting the food for these meals from fast food joints and/or convenience stores.

There are other reasons to keep a cell. I was in the hospital a few weeks ago. I had no cell minutes (prepaid), but my contact numbers were in my cell. I was able to use the hospital phones to call people because I had my contacts on my cell. In a world where fewer and fewer people carry phone books, having those names, addresses, and phone numbers is vital.

Exactly. Unlike leisure-class Republicans and Wingnut Welfare recipients like Malkin, when you actually have to go for a real live job interview you need a phone. You need to call a potential employer, and you need to have a phone number you can be contacted at.

Those of us living in reality know this. Republicans? Not so much.

Uh, no. Homeless, in particular those outside of the shelter system, can’t eat for $20/week because they have no capacity to heat up, cook, or refrigerate food. They can only do quick, poor quality meals at delis, convenience stores and fast food restaurants. All of those meals are more than $3. So even one poor quality meal per day is more than $20/week.
