Prepare For Fail

No offense to Mr. Albert Haynesworth and his giant new contract with the Redskins, but this is going to be another one of those big name free agent deals that end up dropping egg on Dan Snyder’s face. The missing link here is defacto GM Vinny Cerrato, who won’t tell his boss and best buddy Dan Snyder “no”, nor is Vinny an even mediocre judge of talent let alone a good one. The Redskins need help on the offensive line, at the wide receiver position, and possibly even at quarterback – if Jason Campbell has a year even slightly like the one he just had expect to see Colt Brennan taking snaps.

Haynesworth is awesome. When he’s healthy. Which will be between 0 and 8 games every year. Still, it just doesn’t make sense to spend that much cash on anyone…

You get no sympathy from me about your GM not telling the owner the hard facts. Here in Dallas, we have Jerry Jones!

41 million signing bonus. No way he can live up to that, even if he had his best season. Even adjusted for inflation, I bet that’s more than Strahan ever saw.

Albert is 27 and has never played 65 percent of the snaps in the games he wasn’t injured. When he’s 30 or 32 will he play 20 percent of the snaps?

    Zorn’d.

Personally, I think the Skins have more than enough WRs to go around and a decent QB. What they need is some help on both the offensive and defensive lines.

But having said that, $41 million signing bonus for just one guy, let alone a defensive tackle? This guy better get a sack on every down when the other team makes a passing play. Though I think its more likely that he’ll just be the highest-paid bench rider after a few games (see: Adam Archuleta).
