Good! I doubt that his little racist joke was his first, so yeah, he’ll resign so that the depths of his “humor” isn’t explored.

Or he could be hanging around so many racist people that he thought that ‘joke’ was normal and not offensive. He’s probably thinking he’s not racist, but it’s uppity blacks that cost him his job.
Problem is that the Mayor of Los Alamitos is basically a figurehead position. He is a member of the city council selected by the other members to serve as mayor. Nothing in the article says that he resigned from the City Council which would really be a punishment.
