Bobby Jindal: Fabulist?

So, not only was Bobby Jindal’s speech an epic failure, now it looks like he made up the story that was its central narrative.

    Duros called it!

The entire crux of TPM’s argument is that all the evidence points to Jindal visiting the 6th or 7th and September 3rd was “the latest” when boats would be needed. Problem is, 40% of the New Orleans area was still flooded as of September 15th.

    • Yes, just like all the mocking we did of Sarah Palin was a clear indication of how afraid of her we were. So afraid she put the final nail in the coffin of John McCain’s presidential dreams.

Well, not the entire crux. TPM also notes that Jindal hasn’t told the story the same way twice.

    I knew it!

Frankly, the whole idea that the thing to admire about Katrina was the response of rural white Sheriffs is so gobstoppingly misguided that I don’t know where to start. Does no-one remember the posse, including a sheriff, that fired on refugees trying to cross a bridge to safety?
Has no-one read this cover story from last month’s Nation?

  8. Bruce Henry says:

So…”fabulist.” Is that the new word for “fucking liar?”

No. There were multiple points made, including inconsistencies in Jindal’s story and the sheriff’s story. The latter was quoted as saying he only found out why there was a problem a week later, and if that is true, the phone call could not have happened the way Jindal said it did.
