Sean Delonas Is Now On A Very Short Leash

It was one thing for the NY Post to sort of apologize for the monkey cartoon, but I think it’s practically unprecedented for Rupert Murdoch to speak up on something like this.
‘Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted,’ said the statement from Murdoch, who is also chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, which owns the paper.
‘I can assure you — without a doubt — that the only intent of that cartoon was to mock a badly written piece of legislation.
‘It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such. We all hold the readers of the New York Post in high regard, and I promise you that we will seek to be more attuned to the sensitivities of our community.’
It’s still constructed in a weaselly “if anyone was offended” way, but significant for ol Rupe to weigh in.

How nice. Old Rupert feels the heat and in a move definitely out of character, he apologize. BFD! He’s afraid of having his waiver rescinded.
I’ll believe him when he apologizes and stop the racism in all of his media rags, including Faux News.
We shouldn’t let up and put more heat under his wrinky ass.
You are a perfect example of why “racism” continues to lose it’s meaning. Fox news racist?
Back to the cartoon:
1. Barack Obama didn’t write the stimulus.
2. The Chimp doesn’t resemble President Obama AT ALL.
3. The “weak” joke or “weak” connection is: The artist is so clearly upset with the stimulus that it might as well have been written by a chimpanzee.
Grow up.
Sorry, Brian, but your attempt to “reason” away the nastiness of that cartoon is lame at best.Racism lose its meaning? As long as their are people out there like you that don’t get it, the meaning will never be lost.
Obviously you are seriously ill informed regarding the racism and sexism so prevelant in Murdoch’s empire. Try typing “fox news racism” and just pick one of the over 15,000,000 entries, any one you like. Hopefully your limited attention span will not be a problem.
Regarding Delonis, if you look at his “cartoons” you will see the racism, sexism, religious bigotry and much more in his published work at the Post and they are happy to print it. But this time they’ve gone too far and they know it.
You also fail to understand the history of how apes have been equated with blacks over the centuries in this country. You fail too to see the implications of deadly violence put forth by the “cartoon”.
Come to think of it, you don’t see anything at all so I’ll stop here.
People like you will never get it.
sorry guys. I didn’t see it as racist either. I don’t think he meant President Obama. who the hell knows what the idiot meant?
I have a post about the Delonas cartoon on my blog. Check it out at the URL below:
