Bipartisanship, American Style

The beltway and the MSM think that bipartisanship is for Obama to accept crazy Republican ideas in the hopes of somehow producing law that is watered down but acceptable to the cocktail class. What the American people want is for congressional Republicans to work with President Obama to get the country working again. And if they won’t work him they should walk off a short pier.

    Screw bipartisanship!
LibDems won the election and majorities. It’s your turn to govern. Have at it.

I see. “We fucked this up as bad as we probably could. What are you gonna do about it?’

Whatever happened to the party of personal responsibility, Joaquin?
Oh, that’s right. When it comes to Republicans, it’s all about other people’s personal responsibility.

Thanks for your help in advance.

  3. joaquin says:

    First off, I’m not a Republican so……..Strike 1!
The Fuck Up was done by BOTH parties so…..Strike 2!
    Personal responsibility! This from a LibDem??……Strike 3!

You’re out! CALL YOU NEXT CASE!

  4. Duros62 says:

    Personal responsibility! This from a LibDem??……Strike 3!

    That’s what I thought.

  5. They vote for Republicans, support for Republicans, but don’t call themselves Republicans because when the inevitable screwup comes they don’t want any responsibility.

y’know I’m really annoyed that bipartisanship has been the buzz talk of the day and keeps getting humped repeatedly by the media and politicians. Bipartisanship is not democracy, it’s a bunch of drones that agree with what the biggest prick in the room says. Our government operates with two opposing viewpoints so that in the midst of responsible debate the best solutions come to the forefront. Constantly thumping that “we need to work together” and “we need to step across the aisle” is just another way of saying that the parties need to have similar ideals in order to get work done and that’s not only bullshit, but it preaches to the choir that believes that both major parties are just the same; in love with the corporations.

Politics like this prevent the possibility that we’ll ever break from the simple minded two party system and embrace a more adequate party politics that actually represents its constituency.

I still claim to be independent despite my recent democratic party leanings because I think the biggest problem with the Dems is that they don’t distinguish themselves enough from the GOP.

We live in a democracy that is driven by a republic of representatives. In order for our legislative body to ensure that it’s making the right choices for all Americans must have fruitful debate that exposes all viewpoints. To be close minded and assume that there’s only one right answer to any problem is just as ignorant as thinking that a plumbing contractor has any business reporting news from a battlefront. It’s dumb. It’s rhetoric for dumb Americans. And it’s fuel to keep liars and cronyism at the forefront of our discourse.

Exactly. This is what many of us who got it right from the start have been saying for some time now. If only we weren’t dismissed as Dirty Fucking Hippies, the world and the U.S. would be in far, far better shape. Alas.

OW wrote – They vote for Republicans, support for Republicans, but don’t call themselves Republicans because when the inevitable screwup comes they don’t want any responsibility.

That’s about the most idiotic thing you’ve posted.
    Here’s your gold star.

  9. And yet, you don’t refute it. Too close to the bone.

  10. Dennis says:

“If only we weren’t dismissed as Dirty Fucking Hippies,” Mister ed

    Finally, it comes out.

I think you’ll feel better now after saying that, Mister ed.
It’s a good first step, anyway.

  11. joaquin says:

Refute what? Your idiotic statement? Why waste my time refuting pure nonsense………………..*pfffft*

  12. Bruce Henry says:

Nothing idiotic about it, joaquin. You, Dennis, Jay, Jay Tea, all defend Republicans, support Republicans, attack Democrats, and then claim you’re not a Republican.
You may not be a registered Republican, but you’re still a Republican. I may not be in the Knights of Columbus, but yhat doesn’t mean I’m not Catholic.

  13. Parthenon says:

Yeah, you are what you vote for, regardless of the box you checked. If a check the ‘F’ box, it doesn’t make me a woman.

But that’s okay. You gents can have your semantic fiction. In the end, it doesn’t really matter. Just keep saying to each other ‘We weren’t conssseeeerrrrrvative enough’ in ‘08 and see what happens.

  14. Parthenon says:

    Ahem.

*If ‘I’ check the ‘F’ box, not if ‘a’*

  15. Dennis says:

    –Bruce Henry

For the record, I’ve never said I wasn’t a Republican, Bruce, although I did vote for His Excellency in the VA primary. That was before I knew about the terrorists he was slumming around with.

  16. Duros62 says:

You know what? Joaquin Phenix is right. Screw bipartisanship. Fuck you trolls and broken-down elephants you rode in on. Let the folks who actually believe government can do good things for people have at it. I sincerely hope the GOP in Congress opposes everything the Dems propose, every time. I sincerely hope they become the de facto party of obstructionism and Party First.
Go for it. Take your fucking ball and go home.

That was before I knew about the terrorists he was slumming around with.
    Oh, please.

  17. Randy Brown says:

Forget “bipartisanship.” Obama needs to channel the black side of himself, and start laying fists upside heads and feet inside asses!

And I SECOND what Duros wrote at 3:59.

  18. Andrew says:

As Randy says, “Forget ‘bipartisanship’.” Those of us who voted for Obama didn’t vote for him so he could change his policies to please the most people.
