After reading Grumpymann’s comment of concern, I’d like to retract my own 12:08 pm comment. I am sorry for any discomfort or inconvenience it may have cause for our more sensitive readers. I confused street humor with that which might be more appropriate for internet blogging. I humbly apologize.

That said, I’d like to replace that 12:08 pm comment with a more politically correct one, suitable for even our most conservative guests:

It doesn’t matter whether a f#(%ing piece of $#!t pig is wearing hip-hop clothing or even lipstick, it is still a f#(%ing piece of $#!t pig!

SpiderJ says: "Grumpy - I think that’s the point. Steele seems focused on how to best sell the message to younger people without considering that maybe the message itself is less palatable to younger people."

Exactly. The GOP are going to use racial stereotypes to try and sell their unpopular policies to the people they are racially stereotyping. It's almost sublime in its inanity.

This is a surprisingly racist discussion.

99% of the black people I know (and being black myself that is a large number of people) do not subscribe to any of these behaviors.

Sean D. Martin says: "I wonder what the reaction would be if anyone referred to Obama’s media pushes as a 'minstrel show'?"

I wonder what the reaction would be if Obama decided to 'Hip-hop' the White House?

Given the past attempts at appealing to black youths (Remember "Who let the dogs out"?) calling this a 'minstrel show' might turn out to be kind. After all, from Steele's own words, it sounds like he will be using black culture to sell the GOP to a group that is not receptive to the principles the GOP stand for. Instead, they should figure out what part of the GOP blacks and Hispanics are turned off by. (The Southern Strategy.)

"We at the Republican Party want a chairman with attitude. He's edgy, he's 'in your face.' You've heard the expression 'let's get busy'? Well, this is a chairman who gets 'biz-zay!' Consistently and thoroughly."

but at the end of the day he’s just some clown.

No man, it's house Negro. Or in his case, Oreo Cookie. I'm about as opposite of you when it comes to politics man, but they need to put this dude on the corner. The last thing we need, is for the G.O.P. to become Democrat-lite.

I give it 6 months and the whole G.O.P. staff will be black. Watch. I know what Steele is trying to do, and it's wrong, DAMNED Wrong.

This is too funny!

When Michael "Steal" start wearing his pants low and sporting a gold grill, I'll believe him. Nothing like your Dad wearing your clothes to get you to listen to him.

I'll bet his white compadres think he's "hip"!

Now all Steele needs is a gyrating crew of dancing homies, bitches and ho’s. But he can't forget cowboy hats.. er, the NASCAR caps..

More innovative copy tactics from the party of “self-reliance” and “ideas”.

Reagan – Bush.
Hillary – Sarah.
Obama – Steele.

They might want to start with competence. Wait... I forgot. Political and government leadership cannot ever be competent. Or is that all leadership in general? Now I'm confused.

Dear Michael Steele,
Maybe not comparing African Americans to primates, fearmongering about getting leprosy from Mexicans and comparing gays to beastiality would help your party in the 18-34 demo
