WTF is “Protecting the Vulnerable”?? And the numbers for the $288 billion in tax relief doesn’t make any sense. How is spending money on infrastructure projects counted as tax relief?
Open? Sure.
Sensible? Not.
How is spending money on infrastructure projects counted as tax relief?
Tax credits or tax breaks for infrastructure projects?
Just a guess.
Jay Caruso: “WTF is ‘Protecting the Vulnerable’?? And the numbers for the $288 billion in tax relief doesn’t make any sense. How is spending money on infrastructure projects counted as tax relief?”
I think this is another ‘Per 100,000′ moment.
Where does it say infrastructure projects are counted as tax relief?
CS, try reading. Click through and you’ll see what makes up the $288B in “tax relief.”
And talk about bitter clingers…..get over it already.
Pure 100% propaganda, but that’s cool. Y’all need to keep pitching this thing cause God knows………..you own it.
Hey, maybe I missed it, but is there a place to comment?
“CS, try reading. Click through and you’ll see what makes up the $288B in ‘tax relief.’”
Wow. That’s small print. Well, I have bad eyesight, so it’s small print to me.
“And talk about bitter clingers…..get over it already.”
It’s not clinging if you never answered the question, Jay.
Thanks for the pointer, Jay. I just got an article for Contentions out of that — how the bar graph and the bubbles are actually fraudulent. Almost half the “tax relief” AIN’T. The real numbers, once you factor in the small print:
$165 billion for “tax relief”
$144 billion for “state and local fiscal relief”
$126 billion for “infrastructure and science”
$142 billion for “protecting the vulnerable”
$59 billion for “health care”
$78 billion for “education and training”
$65 billion for “energy”
$8 billion for “other”
Let me fix your quote, Oliver:
“Recovery.gov is lie.”

Oh, were you able to figure out what the footnotes meant?
Yes, Quaker. That nearly half the money under “tax relief” should have been listed under another category. I was very impressed that they were so honest about their dishonesty.
Oh, and they have some people who can make some very pretty graphs that are terrible at conveying information. But as I said elsewhere, that’s probably a bug, not a feature.
