America Vs. Rush

Rush Limbaugh attacked Rep. Nick Thompson (a Republican) for helping out Henrietta Hughes, the homeless woman who spoke to President Obama at the town hall meeting in Ft. Myers, FL. Rep. Thompson seems to be one of the few Republicans out there with a spine to speak up to Limbaugh.

‘There is nothing more American or Christian or freedom-loving than someone of their own volition using the resources they have to help someone, and not going through some government program or using tax dollars,’’ Thompson told Buzz. ‘Whether Republican or Democrat, the more people do small things like just helping your neighbor the better off we’d be.’

If the rest of the GOP had some of the guts Rep. Thompson seems to have, rather than making Limbaugh their de-facto leader, they might not be in such dire straits as a party.

So, keep listening to him, jackasses.

No truer words were spoken. Thompson is a dying breed: a true Republican.

I doubt if Limpballs has ever helped anyone but himself his entire loathsome life. This country will be better off when he’s put out of business and I for one, will do my best to expedite it.

Ahh, but you know that by Wednesday at the latest, he will have been whipped back in line. The House GOP demands goose-step lock-step loyalty to The Cause.

You know, even if you’re a Republican with a philosophical objection to government aid to the needy, you’d think that acts of personal charity — reaching into one’s own pocket to help someone out — would be beyond the pale of criticism, regardless of your political ideology. But now we see that the right-wingers led by Rush aren’t simply against government intervention to help people out in tough times– they’re against helping people out on principle. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people? Didn’t Rush learn in Sunday school that if the landowner wants to pay the same amount for workers who showed up at the first hour as for workers who showed up at the eleventh hour, that’s his prerogative? If Rep. Thompson wants to let a homeless woman stay in one of his unused houses for a little bit while she gets back on her feet, he can.

    Con Logic.

Giving everyones money to the rich who don’t need it = Good.

Giving ones money to someone who needs it = “Disgrace.”

    This is who they are.

I’m not sure how any sensible human being isn’t embarrased for this man. But that’s not the first time one could have said that about Limbaugh, I suppose.

  6. SaveFarris says:

Nice strawman Oliver, but nowhere in that link does Rush attack Thompson. Even by you standards, there’s no “there” there.

  7. Jaim says:

LOL Republicans. Yet again. A dying party in a hurry to kill itself.

Rush Limbaugh is a racist asshole.

“When I gave food to the poor they called me a saint. When I asked why the poor had no food, they called me a communist.”

Argh I can’t remember for the life of me who said that.
