Good News…

11:48 pm EST February 14th, 2009 | Politics, Republicans | 13 Comments

As Republicans prepare to engage in a self-described insurgency versus President Obama, doing the will of Republican Leader Limbaugh and hoping for the President and the country to fail, they have coalesced – it appears – around a new leader. This is good news. It is good news for Democrats, because Eric Cantor is a freaking idiot.

The press is positioning him as a modern Newt Gingrich, who went up against Bill Clinton. Of course what the MSM is forgetting is that President Clinton eventually made Gingrich his bitch.

Also, all indications show that President Obama is an even better Jedi than President Clinton.

Seriously, takes some chutzpah to call someone a freaking idiot and then your evidence of such is to show a video of him being interviewed by a much, much bigger idiots.

If it’s idiocy of him to not want to state on that unequivocally whether we should go to war with Iran, what does it say about the many Democrats who did go on MSNBC and other cable stations and declare we should go to war with Iraq? Or for that matter, how many of them shortly after said we went to war with the wrong ‘I’ country?

  2. Rheinhard says:

Yeah it would have been so much better to see Cantor interviewed by his intellectual peers… somebody like Sean Hannity, I think.

Wow. Trying to out idiot Cantor, I see.

Cantor didn’t say, “I think it would be irresponsible to answer a question like that at this time.” That would have been a good answer to give. But he just kept repeating the same non-answer over and over again. Then he claimed it was the region commanders’ decision to go to war with another nation.

    He’s a fucking idiot.

And you’re a fucking idiot for defending him.

Awesome. The Republican party is falling apart faster than I could have possibly dreamed.

Cantor makes Harry Reid look like Winston freakin’ Churchill by comparison. Dude’s a metal midget.

    Carry on, suicidal Republican party!

I’d also note that Adam Nagourney heaping praise on a Republican is kind of like a crack addict praising the virtues of rock cocaine.

  5. Ara says:

Nowhere in the NYTimes article this morning does any single Republican address why they voted against the biggest tax cut in US history.

There must be reasons, but so far none have been put out there.

    Strange on so many levels.

  6. Luv says:

The Republican party is dead. The main reason is that Independents have finally woken up to their garbage and stopped voting against their own self interests due to homophobia and religion.

The Republican’s traditional position of speaking to people as if they’re idiots no longer works because Obama is so effective in speaking to people as if they’re adults.

The MSM keeps the Republicans deluded because all they report is everything from the angle of “conflict”. But the voters see Republicans true colors and that is that every single syllable that comes from their mouths is always politcial. No ideas to better government. No ideas to better citizens’ lives. Everything is just for short-term political game and America is SICK of it.

Of course, Republicans don’t even LIVE in America. They live where only white-christian homophobes/xenophobes live and that’s who they speak to through the MSM that lets them.

And who could have predicted that as a consequence of the modern Republican party’s leadership: Limbaugh (liberals hate America), Coulter (liberals are godless traitors), Hannity (liberals are evil and akin to terrorists). This is where we are.

  9. Tyro says:

Oliver, I hate to defend Newt Gingrich, but the guy did spend many, many years as part of a beleaguered House minority working hard at laying the groundwork to win the House for the Republicans after 40 years in the wildnerness (some of it through dishonesty and exaggeration, but I’ll let that pass). Yes, ultimately, it turned out that he didn’t make a very good Speaker of the House, but don’t sell Newt short. That said, even I can tell that Eric Cantor is no Newt Gingrich.

  12. Zardozinhell says:

Cantor as the new Newt? He’s not smart enough.

Newt Gingrich just can’t get over the fact that he screwed up his party big. Remember his government shutdown?

Newt the Grinch is still pushing the same old sh*t today the way he did over a decade ago as if the world hasn’t moved on and the Rethugs have become a regional party dying under the weight of it’s own stupidity.

Other than the die-hard pinheads, the American people do finally get it that the Repukes are all about themselves and they (we, me) are feed up with their crap.

Now Cantor comes along with Limbaugh and Newt’s gently whispering in his ear and seriously thinks that he can pull a power play? Laughable!

This retard is in a bubble breathing his own farts.

    Who elects these people?

  13. Dr. Squid says:

The press wants Cantor to be like Newtie, which means he’ll be prone to making dumb statements like, “Everyone in the administration is on drugs,” while getting his dick sucked under his desk by a staffer while his wife is in the hospital.
