Wow, I have to be honest, I actaully admire this guy. He has effectively super-glued himself to his 15-minutes and is holding on with all his might.

If I didn’t have anything else going on, except for a vague wisp of a plan for a plumbing business, I can’t say that I would pass up the chance to be a phony caricture/embodiement of blue-collar America to be used at GOP marketing events.

Big shocker that PJM is biting the dust. Might as well give themselves a viking funeral.

This is what it’s come to.

A few years ago Bill O’Reilly debated Paul Krugman on the Tim Russert Show. For real. That’s right, a racist, nativist, sexual harasser, blowhard shouter on News for Mouth Breathers debated a tenured professor of economics at an Ivy League University (who later won the Nobel Prize for Economics). That would sound strange to the unfamiliar, but that’s the state of things in the U.S. today.

Their team is Joe the Plumber, Chance the Gardner, and George the Incurious Dumbass Royalty. Ours is Mr. Krugman, Brad DeLong, and Duncan Black. Know-nothing style versus studied substance.

They are Rush Limbaugh and James Adkisson. We are Michael Berube and Glenn Greenwald.

It’s sad and unfortunate, but this is where we are.

Silly Oliver. Even if there were Stimulus Bill hearings occurring (which there aren’t and haven’t been), everyone know that Republicans aren’t allowed.

  5. Enlightened Liberal says:

    Elections have consequences.

  6. Quaker in a Basement says:

everyone know that Republicans aren’t allowed.

Come up with something besides “Know what’ll fix everthang? ‘Nother tax cut!” and mayber that will change.

  7. ed says:

Dave in SoCal, please keep on pretending that “Joe” “the Plumber” isn’t one of the key spokespeople for the party of Lee Atwater, the modern Republican party. Your party. Because the longer that guy’s around, the funnier the Daily Show’s likely to be. And I love me some Daily Show.

So please, keep on pretending that the modern Republican party isn’t a huge fucking joke, or as with Republican James Adkisson, a huge fucking tragedy. Just look the other way. Pretend they aren’t there. Change the subject.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Jaim says:

    Limbaugh. Joe The Plumber. O’Reilly.

As has been stated before, when will Republicans realize that making fun of your opponent does not mean the same thing as winning elections and governing?

  9. Zardozinhell says:

Joe the Dumber is an outstanding representative of the current GOP and conservatives. We all know that true Republicans and conservatives have been marginalized and pushed out of the party years ago.

He’s a liar, he’s undereducated, he’s a fraud, he’s insecure, he thinks he owns the world and he is perfect spokesman for the far-right.

Let’s pray that he sticks around long enough to do some Rethug Senate campaigning support.

Don’t forget his entitlement issues. He thinks he deserves this attention.
