Axelrod Tells Rove To STFU

9:34 pm EST February 12th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 33 Comments

The Axe gets blunt with the architect of Democratic control of the House and Senate:

But, Axelrod saved his strongest condemnation for the man who held his job in the Bush White House: Karl Rove. Of Rove’s criticism of Obama’s economic stimulus plan, Axelrod said: ‘The last thing that I think we are looking for at this juncture is advice on fiscal integrity or ethics from Karl Rove — anyone who’s read the newspapers for the last eight years would laugh at that.’

Amen, brother.

Amen, indeed. Someone had to say it. The spectacle of Rove pundifying about the Obama administration induces nausea along with the uproarious laughter. He carries having no shame to ridiculous lengths.

    Rove wears Hoover underoos

  3. Jaim says:

Serious question: Why do Republicans still hold Rove in such high regard? He presided over the ruination of his own party.

  4. freD says:

    “the architect of Democratic control”

LOL. The worst of these politicians are an amazing bunch. While normal people would be cowering under the weight of self-inflicted humiliation, Rove just keeps going and going. They really cannot feel normal emotions.

  5. durablend says:

    Jaim,

They haven’t figured out how to reanimate St. Ronnie yet, so Rove provides for a close enough substitute.

  6. SpiderJ says:

Because the GOP has become so focused on gains that it fails to look at attending losses. They venerated Nixon’s ability to wrest power and influence and ignored the devil’s bargains he made to get them. They adore the ability of the religious right to mobilize their followers and ignore the way their intolerance tends to alienate people. They love toppling a dictator to prove how manly they are and then avoid dealing with the consequences of cleanup until it’s spiraled beyond their control.

They love that Rove bought them eight years of the White House. They hold that in higher regard than the possibility that he might have cost them at least the eight after.

  7. joaquin says:

Why are you guys so fixated on the Republicans.
The Republicans have no power. It’s all on you guys.

By the way, this is a real dooozy!

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) predicted on Thursday that none of his Senate colleagues would “have the chance” to read the entire final version of the $790-billion stimulus bill before the bill comes up for a final vote in Congress.

DID YOU GET THAT? None of his Democrat colleagues!!!! BWAAAA!

“No, I don’t think anyone will have the chance to [read the entire bill],” Lautenberg told CNSNews.com.
    BWAAA!!! HAAAAA!

  8. Duros62 says:

DID YOU GET THAT? None of his Democrat colleagues!!!! BWAAAA!

He said none of his Senate colleagues, not “Democrat colleagues.”

The bill is, what, 600 pages, mostly economic forecasts and number wonkiness? You probably couldn’t read the whole thing by Monday either.

  9. Zardozinhell says:

Well, joaquin, maybe it’s because the “Republicans” have bankrupted the country, raped the constitution and started a needless war that took over 4,000 lives. Or maybe it’s because they’re lying obstructionist who don’t give a crap about the hardships ordinary Americans including fools lik you? Do ya think that might be it, you useless troll?

As for Rove, why is that traitor and liar given air time? He needs to be cuffed and thrown in prison. That day may come unless he snitches for immunity.

  10. C.S.Strowbridge says:

    “BWAAA!!! HAAAAA!”

And the same was said of the PATRIOT Act. Were you this upset about that?

  11. Duros62 says:

Shorter Axelrod: Don’t you have a congressional subpoena to answer to, Karl? Aren’t you supposed to be somewhere right now?

Why are you guys so fixated on the Republicans.

Here’s just one out of many, many reasons:

  13. joaquin says:

Yo freD! That debt chart is sure going to look pretty in a couple of days. They’ll probably have to get bigger paper for the graph to fit!!!!!! HA!

Yo Zardozinhell! You want to talk about bankrupt????
Can you say: Democrats SUPERSIZED IT!!!!!! *pffffft*

  14. Jaim says:

The Republican party drove America into the ground. Now Dems are pulling it out. It’ll take some time, but Obama has eight years. That’s more than enough time.

How’s your mom’s basement treating you these days Joaquin?

  15. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“Yo Zardozinhell! You want to talk about bankrupt????

No, the Democrats are using economic policies to help the economy recover from the problems the Republicans caused.

This is going to cause a short term increase in the deficit, but it will hopefully prevent long term problems.

Of course, it will only work if the Republicans back it, or at least get out of the way.

  16. joaquin says:

jaim – My parents live in condos. Last time I checked, they don’t have basements. Of course, you probably didn’t know that. he he!
    Nice try you dummy, you!

joaquin, I generally recommend against commenting on blogs while drunk.

  19. freD says:

Over the last century, Democrats have acted more fiscally responsible than Republicans, “Small Government Republicans”, only “spending” beyond their means to clean up Republican messes. So the Republican repeat-meme spin machine suckered village idiot/drunks like joaquin into believing Democrats always spend irresponsibly.

    Republican Fixation Reason 2:
Republicans claim to be the party of morality, or “heartland values”.

The DJIA tripled under the “communistic” Clinton’s 8 years.

The DJIA has gone down significantly under “free capitalism” Bush’s 8.

  21. Zardozinhell says:

Rethugs need a daddy figure to tell them how and what to think and now that they don’t have one, they cry and whine and talk about how mean those Democrats are.

Thumbsucking grown men in diapers all of you.

Ask Dave Vitter, he definitely needs a change of adult Pampers.

Someone gets beaten up. Doctors arrive to fix them. During the operation, the patient loses more blood before the docs can stop the bleeding. Clearly to joaquin (Is that pronounced “joking”? It should be.) the doctors should be blamed.

SaveFarris: The Reality-Based Community at it’s finest. See if you can spot the exact moment Dems started “pulling it out”.

Well, gee, Farris. The chart you’ve linked shows only that so far today the DJIA is down a whopping 1/3 of a percent. Shame on those Democrats for not having it go up each and every single minute.

    Moron.

  24. Quaker in a Basement says:

Yes, whatever point you were making wasn’t clear. Do-overs?

  25. Sean D. Martin says:

And if you want to look at a longer range, let’s notice how it’s gone down nearly 4600 points in the last year. And how much of that was during Obama’s watch? Oh,yeah. 61.

  26. Zardozinhell says:

Is it me or does anyone else think that it’s impossible to reason with rethugs on any level?

  27. Tyro says:

Is it me or does anyone else think that it’s impossible to reason with rethugs on any level?

It’s not just you. They’re obtusely dedicated to a set of talking points they mindlessly repeat. They’re generally a fount of ingorance and idiocy repeating whatever it is they were told to get outraged about today. And, as demonstrated by people like joaquin, completely incoherent and borderline irrational.

In the cases where they aren’t, they simply like annoying and harrassing liberals by loudly repeating the obnoxious talking points which htey barely even believe in the first place, until the years of relentless brain damage that comes from repeating them results in a state where they actually believe their own BS. By the end, even the “reasonable” ones, by dint of their desire to annoy and harass, end up becoming mindless talking points drones, themselves.

  30. Duros62 says:

You know, Rachel Maddow was just talking about the congressman who equated the GOP to an insurgency and said they could learn a lot from the Taliban.
I don’t think enough has been made of those statements. If the GOP wants to align itself with terrorist organizations, they should be prepared to be treated as such. We do NOT negotiate with terrorists.

Me: “The Republican party drove America into the ground. Now Dems are pulling it out.”

It’s going to take a while to see any improvement. However, without stimulus, it could take years and years and year.

  32. Duros62 says:

If you get impaled by a pipe, you really don’t want to just “pull it out.”
