Kind of late now.

Federal agents on Monday raided a Georgia peanut processing plant linked to the nationwide salmonella outbreak that has prompted one of the largest product recalls in U.S. history.

The FBI executed search warrants at both the plant in Blakely, Ga., and at Peanut Corp. of America’s headquarters in Lynchburg, Va., according to a senior congressional aide with knowledge of the raids. The official spoke only on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Better late than never. Hopefully throwing some people in jail will help prevent more deaths in the future.

On a side note, I remember a time when Jay Caruso and J.G.Thayer would be defending these companies. Maybe someone they know got sick.

    Former.

Example #10,842,951 why law enforcement is not the best way to handle terrorism. This is the speed at which law enforcement works. It’s much easier to lament “Kind of late now” when it’s only about peanuts.

  5. Enlightened Liberal says:

Actually, SF is almost right, except he is accurately describing why Republicans are unqualified to handle terrorism. Eliminate meaningful regulation, ignore signals indicative of a problem, and then when the inevitable happens you can say “No one could have predicted that …..”

Ridiculous. First off, you guys would have us invade potato producing countries to address the peanut issue. Secondly, the feds would be all up in the peanut industry if they hadn’t been declawed by the right for the last decade.
