“FDR was giving out reparations”-Glenn Reynolds
He’s treating Republican historical revisionists with the contempt they deserve.
All the tax cuts in the world for businesses do nothing if the businesses can’t get a loan, which is the current situation.
Thank god adults are back in charge.
He’s 100% right. And anyone who has any training in economics knows that. Republicans, on the other hand, don’t believe in education, and think political philosophy comes first.
I think that’s clear from the last 8 years.
Well, last night I sat down to watch the first unrehearsed act of the Obama administration.
My expectations weren’t high, as I’d witnessed his campaign style the last several years so I knew that with the help of a lap-dog press he would be able to ‘skate’ right through it. Boy, was I mistaken.
What I saw last night was a dark, brooding, rude, uncomfortable, and extremely insecure man. I saw a man that has trained for campaigning, but not governing. I saw a man that showed little experience in the art of decision-making and very comfortable ‘going along’ with the plans of others. I heard a man’s voice lilt at the first sign of semi-tough questions. I saw a flat-footed rookie receiver talking trash, yet unwilling to man-up and go up and get the ball.
For over two years our president has been called a rock star.
Last night I didn’t see Mick Jagger at Madison Sq. Garden. I didn’t see Stevie Wonder at the Hollywood Bowl, and I sure didn’t see Bono at Wembley. What I saw was Ike Turner at the lounge of the Vegas Hilton.
Do you also see and hear faeries, Joaquin?
And yes, according to the two economics professors I’ve taken classes from, according to the four history classes I’ve taken dealing with the depression era, he’s entirely correct.
Ol’ joaquin is right on time with the talking points. Check out redstate and you see how he paraphrased the party line for today. Good job, j.

For over two years our president has been called a rock star by Republican’ts and the conservative mainstream media. Fixed that for you!
Last night I didn’t see Mick Jagger at Madison Sq. Garden. I didn’t see Stevie Wonder at the Hollywood Bowl, and I sure didn’t see Bono at Wembley. What I saw was Ike Turner at the lounge of the Vegas Hilton.
Your perceptual problems could be directly related to the standard Republican’t behavior of looking for something that isn’t there. Rock stars are at rock concerts. Presidents are actually answering unscripted questions at press conferences again these days.
It might also be somewhat unusual for Republican’ts (even faux ones pretendering to be ‘outraged by Obama’ when they let Putsch skate for eight years) to see presidents actually dealing with problems, smacking down juvenile Faux Snooze ‘reporters’ when they ask stupid gotcha journamalism questions, and speaking in full sentences once more.
Meanwhile Joaquin, Jay Thayer, and Steve Farris are holding a meeting at some community center, sitting in folding chairs and sipping coffee out of styrofoam cups, bitching that the phone hasn’t rung for years…
“Last night I didn’t see Mick Jagger at Madison Sq. Garden. I didn’t see Stevie Wonder at the Hollywood Bowl, and I sure didn’t see Bono at Wembley. What I saw was Ike Turner at the lounge of the Vegas Hilton.”
And most Republicans have a positive opinion of Rush Limbaugh while most Democrats have a negative opinion. One could chalk this up to partisan ideas getting in the way of reality; however, most independents also have a negative opinion of Rush Limbaugh.
What can we conclude from this? Republicans have lost touch with reality, because for the past 8 years reality hasn’t been kind to them, so they’ve been ignoring it.
Obama speaks in full sentences, and not ‘pre-recorded’ soundbites. This means he takes longer to answer a question, but we need someone in charge who thinks before he speaks.
Presidents are actually answering unscripted questions at press conferences again these days.
Sorry Tom, but that just ain’t so.
Nothing at that link about scripted questions. Fail again.
SaveFarris: “Sorry Tom, but that just ain’t so.”
OW: “Nothing at that link about scripted questions. Fail again.”
Hey, SaveFarris. Serious question. Do you even read the articles you are posting? Or do you just grab them from Right-Wing blogs?
Shorter wingers:
“You think he’s the messiah!”
“You think he’s the messiah!”
“You think he’s the messiah!”
“He’s only human! Fool!”
What we say was an ADULT in the Presidency, an unpretention man not bluffing or stammering his way through hardball questions. We no longer have the fake cowboy posturing to cover his incompetence. It’s great, I look forward to Obama’s leadership by measured reason instead of knee-jerk idiocy.
The era of SuperStupid is over regardless of what his leaderless trolls think (I know, the word “think” is a stretch here)and it’s time to push them aside and move on.
And for the trolls on Oliver’s site: You’re losers, you lost now either lose the venom and have a coherent thought or do your posting elsewhere.
No one needs you losers!
