"Go back up thread and count how many links I’ve provided in support of what I’m saying. Then go up and count yours. I’ll save you from the latter… it’s zero."

This from the guy who thinks 3 out of 9 is most.

I trust your links as much as I trust your counting skills.

As Fafaroo has already pointed out, your links don't back up your original claim. The Republicans started attacking community organizers as a way of attack Obama. People were comparing community organizers from the past as a way to defend that job. They were not comparing Obama to Moses.

"proof that you’d never have the courage to acknowledge was a good point made no matter how wrong you were or right I was."

This is only true if you were right. You are not.

Your original claim is Obama and his handlers created the Messiah Myth.

You have done nothing to back up THAT CLAIM. You have supplied evidence that is not directly related to your claim. Until you supply evidence that is directly related to your original claim, you will continue to be wrong.

"I’m probably a dope to keep supplying you with more of what feeds you, but all I’m saying is be a man about it and stop crying like a little school girl who just had her pigtails yanked on after her mom just braided them for her when you’ve been thoroughly pwned. Repeatedly."

Still think I don't ignore most comic book / movie related threads on this site?

Hypocrite.

“I used to be a community organizer and I’m in good company,” Roberts said as he introduced Barack Obama at a town hall event here Tuesday night. “Martin Luther King was a community organizer. Listen, Sarah, Moses was a community organizer and yes, Jesus was a community organizer.”

Dennis, if you can;t be honest in your characterization of these quotes, you lose by default.

These people are not comparing Obama to Jesus. They're defending the idea of "community organizers".

For fucksakes, this is like hippies who told their dad's in the 60s, "Hey man, Jesus had long hair and wore sandals."

That doesn't mean the kid was comparing himself to Jesus.

I'll save you from the latter... it's zero. You have this insatiable demand for more information from me, but every time I provide it with a link, (even if admittedly it's not the best link I could've come up with), you say, 'No sale', as if I couldn't have predicted that. You can't intelligibly correct, expound, embellish, refute, or clarify; all you can do is say 'bullshit', call me the usual names liberals are so fond of calling people, and demand more proof; proof that you'd never have the courage to acknowledge was a good point made no matter how wrong you were or right I was.

I'm probably a dope to keep supplying you with more of what feeds you, but all I'm saying is be a man about it and stop crying like a little school girl who just had her pigtails yanked on after her mom just braided them for her when you've been thoroughly pwned. Repeatedly.

Admit defeat and move on, like the example Obama just provided for you. It takes courage, but people will say 'How refreshing' and probably admire you more for it than when you whine and cry. Like some of my Purdue PUkes friends say, CSS, 'Boiler Up'.

Me: "Come on back, Dennis. Come on back and tell me how three out of nine is most. Prove your logical skills and research abilities are something to fear.– C.S. Strowbridge"

Dennis: "I begged off that one, CSB, because like I said, I don’t have the heart. It’s ok in my book to be in your mid-30’s and still be in love with comic books. If you are, be a man about it though."

I haven't collected comic books in 20 years. But I'll just add that to the huge list of things you are wrong about.

Let's see, asses kicked on this thread:

Crusty Dem. Check.
fafaroo. Multiple checks.
Duros62. Check.
Zython. Check
C.S.Strowbridge. Check
Enlightened Liberal. Check

I must say, 102 posts on this thread and not one Hitler or Orwell reference, and not one "STFU". Maybe there is something to this Messiah thing about Obama; maybe he has gotten you guys to shed your cynicism, as Michelle said he would do.

I begged off that one, CSB, because like I said, I don't have the heart. It's ok in my book to be in your mid-30's and still be in love with comic books. If you are, be a man about it though.

Labor leader Cecil Roberts:
"I used to be a community organizer and I’m in good company,” Roberts said as he introduced Barack Obama at a town hall event here Tuesday night. “Martin Luther King was a community organizer. Listen, Sarah, Moses was a community organizer and yes, Jesus was a community organizer.”

Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) declares on the floor of the House:
"Jesus was a community organizer. Pilate was a governor."

Donna Brazile, among many others, made the same comparison.....

....."The Bible says to whom much is given much is required and it comes out of that tradition. So it was insulting to see both, you know, the governor as well as Mayor Giuliani criticize people. There's some on the Internet now that Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor. And perhaps they should understand the role of a community organizer, do help people in distress."

Created by the far-left devil-worshipping loons at Daily Kos, the Jesus Christ as community organizer comparison to Barack Obama caught on and was repeated over and over by many Obama supporters of significance, even in his own camp. Anyone here have any links to any stories as to how Obama may have tried to downplay these likenings of him to Jesus Christ?

I didn’t claim they should’ve stopped it, just that they didn’t, which made them somewhat compliant in furthering it. I think they’ve managed to somewhat effectively temper that a bit since the election, but up to the election, thed’ve been crazy to try to stop the phenomenon going on, even if it was very weird.

Wait a second Dennis. You argued further up the thread that:

Seeing as how he made lots of promises and let stand admittedly unrealistic expectations about Change, yes, it is a complaint.

So now you're saying that Obama would have been crazy to temper expectation before the election, that you don't think he should have and that since the election he's "somewhat effectively" downplayed these expectations which is a good thing.

But you're still going to complain about it all, anyway.

Whatevs, dude.

Jealous much?

I mean, whatever, dude. Somebody went a little overboard with their campaign rhetoric somewhere. Repubs pounced on it and perpetuated the myth that liberals felt that way. Obama's campaign did nothing to stop it (other than the candidate repeatedly saying "I'm not perfect.") and you're crying foul?

I said his supporters and his handlers. His supporters and his willing media did boatloads to create a messianic vision of Barack Obama, and his handlers were compliant, even enablers.

Dennis, what you're arguing in this quote above is that Obama himself, his supporters and the media colluded to create this myth that Obama was "The Messiah". But later you give us quotes from a bunch of anti-Obama people referring to his "messiah complex".

As for the actual Obama supporters, Sullivan and Bill Richards, you've had to seriously stretch to get them to fir the bill, as Crusty Dem points out above.

Obama did not win the election because the Obama campaign and the media convinced a majority of Americans that Obama was the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Obama's opponents, on the other hand, attempted to turn the admittedly unprecedented enthusiasm for Obama's candidacy into a liability by suggesting that there was something cult-like about it and that Obama himself believed he was The Messiah. That line of attack continues with conservatives arguing, as you have done, that "See, see he isn't the Messiah! He's a naughty boy!"

I said his supporters and his handlers. His supporters and his willing media did boatloads to create a messianic vision of Barack Obama, and his handlers were compliant, even enablers.

Dennis, what you’re arguing in this quote above is that Obama himself, his supporters and the media colluded to create this myth that Obama was “The Messiah”. But later you give us quotes from a bunch of anti-Obama people referring to his “messiah complex”.

As for the actual Obama supporters, Sullivan and Bill Richards, you’ve had to seriously stretch to get them to fir the bill, as Crusty Dem points out above.

Obama did not win the election because the Obama campaign and the media convinced a majority of Americans that Obama was the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Obama’s opponents, on the other hand, attempted to turn the admittedly unprecedented enthusiasm for Obama’s candidacy into a liability by suggesting that there was something cult-like about it and that Obama himself believed he was The Messiah. That line of attack continues with conservatives arguing, as you have done, that “See, see he isn’t the Messiah! He’s a naughty boy!”

- That’s exactly what I said, why would the Obama camp want to stop an almost cult-like following for him? I didn’t claim they should’ve stopped it, just that they didn’t, which made them somewhat compliant in furthering it.

Again, does that make Bush responsible for the shit that happened in Jesus Camp?

"Two. Wow. Two out of how many? — C. S. Strowbridge"

Dennis: "Uh, that would be two out of two on this page alone, CSB. One thread you posted twice. (Let’s see, 2 divided by 2= 1. Move over 2 decimals for a percentage. Looks like 100%, CS)."

Wow. So you looked at just the front page and decided that was enough evidence for you. Perhaps if you did a little more research you would have come to a different conclusion.

Two for two on this page, and one of those is about a woman in a small shirt, which I would say trumps the comic book angle.

I was zero for three in the previous page, zero for four if you include the Star Trek one, which is a movie series as well as a TV series.

And I was one for four the page before that. One for five if you include Battlestar Galactica. (I know you said movie / comic book threads, but I think it would be splitting hairs to exclude TV shows from the count.)

So in the past three pages I've replied to three such threads. Three out of nine (or eleven, depending on how you count them).

Hmmmm, that's less than half. That means I ignore most of them.

"So if you were trying to ignore them since you ‘ignore most of them’, those two must’ve been especially enticing to you."

Yep. One was about a hot woman in a small shirt. The other was about someone I personally met. The third out of nine (or eleven) was about a TV series I have been following for nearly 30 years now.

And if you are going to stick with your pathetic claim that they didn’t do enough to stop it, give specifics. Tell us what they should have done.

And why would they want to? Capitalize on a candidate's popularity? Right, can't have that.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me.

I suppose we're all just spitting in the wind on this messiah business until some enterprising political scientist does a comprehensive study on American media coverage from 2004-8.

I was going to post the famous SNL video of William Shatner telling a group of Trekkie nerds to Get a life!, but I just didn't have the heart to.

Dennis: "Well, yeah, they did, Parthy. So did Hillary. But it doesn’t mean Republicans created the Obama messianic myth. Excuse the redundancy, but it was liberals and the media that did that."

Prove it.

Prove it, you lying sack of shit.

Dennis: "Right, you ignore most of them.
Apparently you couldn’t ignore the very next two comic book threads Oliver posted above.
Crediblity and grasps on reality, C.S. Strowbridge.
Please, do tell."

Two. Wow. Two out of how many?

Dennis, you are a fucking 'tard.

There is no other way to describe it.

Now you better run, before your stalker shows up.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

Well, speaking only for myself, I believe Republicans tried to turn Democratic/liberal excitement about their candidate against the candidate, use his own momentum against him, to try and make him appear arrogant and distant to the all-important independents.
