As Fafaroo has already pointed out, your links don’t back up your original claim. The Republicans started attacking community organizers as a way of attack Obama. People were comparing community organizers from the past as a way to defend that job. They were not comparing Obama to Moses.

Dennis, what you’re arguing in this quote above is that Obama himself, his supporters and the media colluded to create this myth that Obama was “The Messiah”. But later you give us quotes from a bunch of anti-Obama people referring to his “messiah complex”.

As for the actual Obama supporters, Sullivan and Bill Richards, you’ve had to seriously stretch to get them to fir the bill, as Crusty Dem points out above.

Obama did not win the election because the Obama campaign and the media convinced a majority of Americans that Obama was the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Obama’s opponents, on the other hand, attempted to turn the admittedly unprecedented enthusiasm for Obama’s candidacy into a liability by suggesting that there was something cult-like about it and that Obama himself believed he was The Messiah. That line of attack continues with conservatives arguing, as you have done, that “See, see he isn’t the Messiah! He’s a naughty boy!”

I was zero for three in the previous page, zero for four if you include the Star Trek one, which is a movie series as well as a TV series.

And I was one for four the page before that. One for five if you include Battlestar Galactica. (I know you said movie / comic book threads, but I think it would be splitting hairs to exclude TV shows from the count.)

So in the past three pages I’ve replied to three such threads. Three out of nine (or eleven, depending on how you count them).
