I put in almost five years there before someone offered me actual money to write, and I jumped with both feet.

And today one of my articles got linked on Real Clear Politics’ “Best Of The Blogs.”

To be blunt, I don’t bring my “A” game here. It’s usually just warming up for the good stuff. Plus, it keeps me in touch with certain elements and lines of thought.

I guess, in a way, I owe a little debt of gratitude to you and your ilk.

Sad thing is, during the peak of the Dot Com boom, the site would have been worth millions.

And again, PJM bloggers were getting paid through a sugar daddy who has recently admitted that advertising on their blogs _never made any money_. He bilked investors out of over seven million in start-up cash.

Again, most succesful lib blogs are written by succesful professionals who decide they want to start blogging. Most con blogs are written by whiney little man-boys who expect a sugar-daddy to pay for them to blog out of their parents’ basement.

My parents have been deceased for well over a decade, I’m considerably older than 41, and just passed my 11th anniversary at the day job. (Today I got calls of appreciation from my boss’s boss, and his boss, for what I’ve done over the last month.) I am looking for an apartment, however — you got that right. A sprinkler blew two floors above my old apartment, and I got flooded out.

But back to the story at hand… I was waiting for Oliver to correct himself, but he hasn’t. PJM isn’t shutting down, it’s just ending its blog advertising arm. PJM itself will soldier on. Their model just wasn’t sustainable — as a lot of people pointed out at the outset. My old blog boss, Kevin Aylward, owner of Wizbang, passed at the beginning because he thought it would flop.

They should have followed the Air America model and found some charities to rip off for money, or found some conservative George Soros with more money than brains and scruples who didn’t mind throwing millions of dollars around to sponsor his or her political goals.

Apparently his parents are remodeling the old rec room where he’s been staying, and encouraging him, at 27, to find meaning in his life, but even more important, an apartment. And then, perhaps a job if he can figure out something that he is at least average at.

By the way, apparently you don’t know about the game “Name That Party.” Whenever you read a story about a disgraced politician, look for a mention of their party affiliation. When it’s a Republican, that gets mentioned fairly quickly. If the mention is later in the piece or missing entirely, the odds are extremely high that it’s a Democrat.

It’s not a habitual thing, but it’s statistically improbable to pass it off as a coincidence.

Try a Google search of “name that party” and see countless examples — I just came up with over 57,000 hits.
