Damn straight. I’m in central Minnesota, and I hear these people complaining about 20 degree weather! I check twice to see if they’re not talking about -20 degrees. That would be something to bitch about.

You never know how damn good 15 above feels after -30 wind chills.

I’m from Minnesota, as well, and live in Boston now. I can’t believe how much people bitch about weather that I had to go outside in for gym class.

I remember when we’d have to play rugby when the pitches were ice cold. Billy Connolly once said, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just wrong clothes!

People in Colorado also think they are winter warriors but start complaining when the thermometer hits 0 for a week. The coldest day in Denver is nothing like the cold in the upper mid west. Even mountain towns that experience extensive sub-zero temperatures have it easy compared to places like Chicago and Minneapolis. It might get to 20 below but humidity is around 20% and there is little wind.

    People in Chicago know cold.

“President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.”

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.” – New York Times January 28, 2009

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.” – Barrack Obama May 2008

Being from the DC metro area. You just have to remember we almost never see more than an inch or two of snow. So we just aren’t prepared. I don’t own a pair of snow boots because it just doesn’t make sense to spend money on something I’ll use maybe once.

The government probably looks at a decent plowing system and such similarly.

Also, people in DC have NO idea how to drive in the snow. Seriously!!
