Oliver
I can’t remember where I saw it but I remember reading an article around the inauguration about a white family who were watching President Obama and the crowds – one of their kids, about 3 or 4 years old started crying. His father asked what the problem was and the kid said, “Why can’t we be black too?”
If Obama can actually deliver your country (and the world) from the bottomless pit the Republicans have dug – I’m gonna buy some Kiwi dark brown shoe polish and rub it all over me! I bet I won’t be the only one!
This is great O-dub – thanks for sharing. Folks might enjoy Dick Gregory’s comments along these lines.

“The President Is Brown”
I’m happy to see that the first post-racial President has gotten us beyond stupid issues like a person’s skin color.
Oh wait…
The kid’s frikkin’ 6 years old, Dave. Lighten up.
Or perhaps I should say “Darken up.”

Oliver is 6? Well that would explain a lot.
Actually, it was Oliver I was referring to, not the kid in the link.
I think its funny how cons keep trying to minimize the idea that Barack Obama is black. No matter how you try, its a big deal.

Oh I see. You’re six.
I think its funny how cons keep trying to minimize the idea that Barack Obama is black.
It’s not just that, Oliver. It’s this craaaazy idea that since we now have a black President, racism ceases to exist in America.
Or something.
