Still Stupid After All These Years
Tweet
The geniuses over at Protein Wisdom link to this story and complain:
After Obama’s 160 million dollar inauguration, lefties are still yammering on about the sinister secrets of Sarah Palin’s campaign wardrobe
Damn those lefties! But wait, what was that link again?
NewMajority.com is a site dedicated to the reform and renewal of the Republican party and the conservative movement. It is edited by David Frum and published by NewMajority LLC.
David Frum? Republican David Frum? Former Bush speechwriter David Frum? He of the Axis of Evil?
What a “leftie” to be reporting actual facts about idiot Sarah Palin.
Guess the more things change…

What’s funny about this to me is how refreshing it is to see a conservative website telling the truth about something. The RNC bailed on their agreement to donate the clothes. Not at all news to me, but were I a conservative republican I might care that my party got caught lying. But then again, that’s everyday for those guys.
Wow. Even the comments on that post lack the turgid mad-lib wingnuttery that once distinguished PW. Then again, that’s like saying snot is so much better than shit.
Hmm. Not sure that the destiny of Palin’s wardrobe is anyone’s concern, except the RNC. And it certainly doesn’t rise to the level of “lying.” But, since we’re on the subject, perhaps you could gin up some outrage for some REAL lies, such as those proffered by Barney Fwank vis a vis the sub-prime mortgage regulation. Or for Chris Dodd (D, Countrywide) regarding his sweetheart loans? Maybe the lies by Charlie Rangel or Tim Geithner, both of whom seem to have trouble doing their taxes? How about Princess Pelosi, who doesn’t feel the need to tell anyone about how much her requested changes to legislation will help her husband’s business?
Not so interested now, eh? I’m thinking the title of this post would be better applied to yourself, and both of your regular readers.
Shorter ginosocal: Look over here at something wheeeee!
Here’s a good question for Republicans repeating this trope. You KNOW that this story is being ginned up by Republicans for the purpose of outraging the “troops.” It’s being repeated on radio stations, etc. Given this, why on earth do you think they would be truthful about it?
ginsocal: You lost. Enjoy your irrelevancy. I pray that it lasts for decades.
Suck it.

Even more pathetic that the irrelevant are those who seem to be obsessed with what the irrelevant say and do.
Well you guys keep acting like you’re in charge.
Shorter Dennis: make ya look!
Well! Those are some sharp, cogent arguments, there. For Democrats, anyway. Which Masters in Social Work program are you in?
Sorry ginsocal, throwing Chris Dodd in there makes your comment look less than entirely serious. Thanks to a program Dodd was unaware of, he saved hundreds of dollars!! I bet the greedy SOB switched to Geico, too, is he unaware of the repercussions of his horrible greed!! SHAME!!! And Tim Geithner? That’s so lame it doesn’t even deserve a response. But nice Nancy Pelosi non sequitur. Troll on, trollie!
Yeah, those social workers are ASSHOLES, am I right?
You’re a fucking idiot.
Your initial post had nothing to do with the topic at hand, nothing at all. Totally irrelevant. It would be as though you come into an conversation about global warming and start talking about the possibility of bacterial life on Mars.
“Well, it’s the same topic, right guys? It’s science, and we’re talking about planets… so yeah, what about life on Mars?”
That’s the reason you got that response from me, because all you’re doing is saying, “Hey buddy, don’t worry about that. Look over there!” You’re adding nothing of value here, just like most of your conservative troll friends on this board. You’re a pissy little loser who has nothing better to do than go on a liberal blog and spout bullshit that has nothing to do with anything. If you want to do that, write your own blog. Until then, STFU and DIAF.
Sure, CD! A super-secret special program! That only applies to Senate committee chairmen! That’s the ticket! Maybe, in all your investigative digging, you ran across Dodd’s mortgage contracts, with that microscopic interest rate. He promised he was going to release them about, oh, 182 days ago, but can’t seem to find them. I’m sure they’ll explain all of this satisfactorily.
I manage to prepare, file and pay my taxes properly. I should’ve submitted my name to be Secretary of Treasury. I’m apparently a LOT smarter than this Geithner character. But, you’re obviously a True Believer, so carry on. I’m just glad I won’t have to watch when the enormity of this abomination hits you morons right between the running lights. It’s gonna be messy…
Thanks to a program Dodd was unaware of, he saved hundreds of dollars!!
Fail.
And of course, the “$70,000 in contributions from Bank of America [who purchased Countrywide] and its high-level employees” he received in 2007 doesn’t hurt either.
There’s no denying that the financial benefit for Dodd from his “VIP” loan was piddling (and Dodd admitted to knowing he was receiving VIP treatment, not to the program itself. Is there a senator who requests a mortgage that does not receive some type of VIP treatment? Try making a local reservation for anything in the name of your state’s senator and see how you’re treated). As far as the donations, OMGBBQ!! Dodd gets money from banks? Why do you think he and Biden were often listed as Biden(D-MBNA) of Dodd(D-BofA) at the GOS.
And if Geithner’s sins are so egregious, you should really take it up with Hatch, Cornyn, and Snowe, who had no trouble confirming him.
My apologies to all for continuing to feed the trolls, particularly on something so spectacularly off topic, they might as well be screaming “DON’T LOOK AT PALIN!! MINE!!”
Don’t look at me. I’m not the one still wetting myself over Palin.
As a side note, I don’t think my commentary qualifies as “trolling.” I stated a point of view, and supported them. But, perhaps that IS trolling on a lib site. You all don’t seem to deal much in facts.

Now all you need to do is connect Dodd and Frank to the topic of the thread and you’re home free.
Does anyone know what happened to those clothes, anyways?
I’d be damn curious to meet the IRS agent that looks over her taxes for 2008. If someone gave me 200,000 USD worth of clothing I’d refuse them, knowing I’d be hard pressed to come up with 100,000 for the tax liability.
But hey, Sarah Palin is just a regular hockey mom from Alaska, dontcha know. Not at all like those Beltway elitists! (Ya know, the ones who went to Yale and Harvard? Just like George W. Bush?)
(And btw, I’m not a tax lawyer, but I do know that if you receive gifts in the amount of say, 180,000 USD, you can’t just give them away to the Salvation Army and tell the IRS you don’t have a tax liability any longer. You have to itemize your deductions on the donations, but even if you never wear a given item it’s no longer worth it’s full retail value.
But I’m sure Sarah and Todd have a super-duper tax preparer working this stuff out for them.)
Also involved with New Majority: Newt Gingrich.
ginsocal: “As a side note, I don’t think my commentary qualifies as ‘trolling.’”
You just jumped into the thread, made a statement that was totally off topic in hopes of getting a reaction. That’s not trolling. Or is it?
