Embrace Change
Tweet
Thought I might move things around a bit here, so here we are. I’m sure there are a few fixes to be made long term, but everything should be working in general.
No TARP funds were used in this redesign.

Um, this sucks. I liked the old layout. Go back to that and resist the urge to keep tweaking this thing!
I haven’t tweaked it in like 2 years. This is the change we need!
Very good, Oliver. It was well past time for a change; this looks like it’s a personalized version of the K2 theme you were using (yes? no?). Love the header; those five images together pretty much spell ‘OW.’
A request in the name of change: I officially retired my old blog, Waveflux, on Inauguration Day. The new hotness is the immodestly-named Philip Barron. If you would make the adjustment in your blogroll, that would be greatly appreciated.
I agree with you, Oliver. Everyone complains when sites change their layout, but then they forget about it after a few days. The only thing I can say is more Starbuck in your BSG posts, please.
I dunno. My jury’s out. Initial impression is it’s a bit cluttered over there on the right with comments squeezed onto only half the space. Is the Coverage list really needed? I know it was there before, but does it add much?
It’s cluttered all over the place. It’s too dark. I dug that superman photo at the top.
Oh and the comments seem to be lagging from submit to post. And what’s with the “newer comments”/”older comments” links? That’s kind of complicating what was pretty simple and intuitive. If it’s to save the trouble of scrolling on long threads, it isn’t that big a deal.
I’m also cranky. Shitty week at work.
You guys remind me of the people who complain every time Media Matters has had our site redesigned.
It’s the first table-free CSS setup I’ve done my self and will be tweaked. The old header won’t be back because I’m sick of it. I’m not sure about the “too dark” complaint. This layout actually has more color than before.
I also don’t know about any lag between submitting a post – there’s been no changes on the backend.
Agh, OW. Is nothing sacred?
“Happening Now”? More like happening in my butt AMIRITE?
I like the new graphics, but the Happening Now just takes up to much space.
Ha. About time you changed things up. Looks like you reworked the K2 theme; props on doing the work yourself, a money-saver in These Tough Economic Times ™. Love the images in the header.
A suggestion: Consider cutting down (way down!) on the number of categories – the parent categories, at least.
And a request: My old blog, Waveflux, was officially retired on Inaugural Day. The new hotness is the modestly-titled Philip Barron. If you would make that change in your blogroll, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Apologies for the double-post! I thought my comment got eaten last night. (blush)
Oh, bitch, bitch, bitch.
This is akin to coming home from work and finding your wife rearranged the furniture.
It’ll be fine.
The right hand side of the screen is a bit cluttered, but I like the new banner heading. One thing, there should be a picture of CK as well.
u need to update ur blogroll. Jack & Jill Politics is now at

I think it looks great, Oliver!! I’m really loving the new header.
That’s better.
The layout’s growing on me a bit, but the multiple comment pages are extra suck. One page for all is much better, imo.
I killed the comment pagination.
Much more convenient for us lazy bastards, thanks.
