Several years ago, while WW was still on, I remember an interview with some wingnut congressman who described the show as nothing more than an “amusing liberal fantasy”, something which could never really come to pass in the modern era of permanent Republican dominance and which provided little more than a fantasy world for liberals while Republicans did the serious work of governing and killing terr’ists.

Now we have President Obama, as saavy and articulate as ever the fantasy of Martin Sheen was, and the right is basically left getting all of its policy propsals from the writers of “24″.
