Roscoe G. Bartlett Votes Against Maryland Again With SCHIP

roscoe g. bartlettYet again, Maryland’s sole Republican in congress has voted against SCHIP. Luckily he was in the extreme minority as the bill passed overwhelmingly. The people of Maryland have got to keep asking: why does Roscoe G. Bartlett keep voting against us? As Frank Kratovil’s win showed in this past election, when the people speak up against extremism there will be consequences to pay.

All we get from Roscoe Bartlett are mealy-mouthed statements about him working “for children” in Maryland. But Bartlett voted against the bill that will likely be signed by President Obama into law.

But then as we saw a couple years ago, Rep. Bartlett is far more concerned with keeping Playboys away from servicemen. I call Bartlett “the scourge of Maryland” for a reason.

  1. GDAWG says:

In this congressman mind when poor children are mentioned in Maryland I’m certain he mind clicks to the poor Black children of Baltimore and the surrounding areas. Not the area of Maryland he represents which surely has its share of poor white kids. Just not as many Black poor ones that’s in the Baltimore area and the Burbs. Hope you get my drift.

    Roscoe G. Bartlett?

Are you sure this is a Congressman and not a bit player from THE JACK BENNY SHOW?

  3. Dr. Squid says:

The mustache looks like John Waters’ negative.

  4. Molly, NYC says:

I don’t know the guy. But if he voted against S-CHIP, I’m guessing that he (a) is fervently anti-choice; and (b) claims that the reason he’s anti-choice is his deep concern for the welfare of neonates.

“Hypocrite” isn’t exactly the word for these people, as it implies that the subject knows better but is too craven to do or say the right thing. With people like Bartlett, it’s more as if their thinking processes on certain subjects have been completely destroyed.
