Right Wing “Christian” Asshats In The News: Lincoln Diaz-Balart

Florida Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (do you really have to ask what party?) calls atheism “evil” and something that causes “damage”. This is someone making laws. Laws that extend beyond his own living room. Please, stifle yourself.

Very nice, OW. Glad to see that you’re showing the counterpoint to “atheist asshattery” that you’ve posted on in the past.

This guy’s a total idiot. Fuck him and everybody who looks like him.

  2. MH says:

I agree w/ mambochicken on all counts

Your modern [do you really have to ask what party]? Thanks Nixon. Thanks Jay Tea. Thanks SaveFarris.

Further, fuck the horse they ride in on. I’m waiting for heresy to come back onto your statute books as a crime.

The part about people like that (oh, that phrase) that really bakes my noodle is this: the POV that ‘atheists’, soi-disant, actually BELIEVE in God’s existence, but are so irate about it they claim NOT to believe.

In Terry Pratchett’s line, some people’s minds you
    couldn’t change with a hatchet.

    Finally, some equal time.

C’mon Oliver, there are walking advertisements for birth control in the Democratic Party as well.

C’mon Oliver, there are walking advertisements for birth control in the Democratic Party as well.

No doubt, but unlike with the Republicans, it’s not a defining characteristic of the party.

  9. Robster, FCD says:

Yeah! Doesn’t Lincoln know that only those uppity New Atheists are evil?

Gotta bust your balls a bit, OW. Thanks for standing up for us.

  10. The Faith-Based Dave says:

Christians are very moral. Catholics especially show us the christian morality of torture:

Poliecemen are always perfect & should always be obeyed, just like jesus. Mormon policemen are the mostest perfect:

Christian pastors are full of God’s morality. They preach it to their congregations:
    http://patriotboy.blogspot.com/2008/05/jesus-really-digs-john.html

Wives of pastors teach their christian morality to their children:
    http://stevenandersonfamily.blogspot.com/2009/01/out-of-mouth-of-babes.html

Christians have the morality of their God. Athiests don’t have that special christian morality. They only believe in their fellow man.

  11. sa says:

Wait a second there Oliver, why do you have “” around Christian? Are you saying Lincoln Diaz-Balart isn’t Christian? What is he saying that goes against any Christian teaching?

I can’t remember if you’re a theist or not but ALL Christian are taught by their religion than ANYONE who rejects their god for ANY reason (not just for not believing in the supernatural) will be sent to a dimension that exists for torture for eternity. This dimension was created for the express purpose of punishing evil therefor atheists are indeed, in honest Christian eyes, evil or as close enough to at the very least. There is no purgatory for atheists, they’ll end up just like Hitler.

And I think they’re worried about atheism’s spread thus condemning more souls, I’d say that’s damaging to society wouldn’t you?

When it comes to these particular points of dogma I’m afraid apologetic moderation simply cannot apply. Lincoln Diaz-Balart is expressing the teachings of his religion quite accurately.

You cannot call yourself a Christian if you think your god loves atheists because he made quite clear from the 10 Commandments to Jesus Christ; atheists will burn in Hell no matter how good a person they were and Hell is for evil people.

  12. Duros62 says:

If I believed in Hell, that might be a concern.
