Hockey is where it's at, and those of us who've been with the Caps forever won't mind if you hop on the bandwagon with us. ;)

The rules are pretty simple. Simpler than football by far.

When you do pick a game, get one versus Pittsburgh or Philly for the best time. Or a playoff game.

Playoffs are a little ways off, but the Caps should be in (barring a complete meltdown) as they are 2nd in the conference now and lead the division by 10 pts. Playoff hockey is about as good as it gets, sports-wise.

OW, you should try hockey.
This will never happen. I have no interest in it, never played it for fun, don't know the rules, too old to learn. Plus that season goes on forever. I may go to a Caps game at some point but that's about it.

Pick another team for the duration.
Best I can say is it wouldn't be horrible for Philly to win it. My coworker who is a Philly fan would be insufferable, but since its unlikely to happen anyway, let that happen. :)

As a longtime Bills fan, I say ... stop being a wimp. I give some small thanks for the variety this year, where instead of almost winning 5 of the first 6, but dropping 5 by 1 or 2 points, this year they took off strong, then meandered to a deeply mediocre season. 0 points one week, 41 the next? Why not!

It's simple. Pick another team for the duration. Once your guys are gone, it's not disloyal, assuming it's not, say, an archrival. Pick the most interesting team, this year's edition.

By that standard, who do you pick?

Just guessing from your graph that the Chicago Redskins were not doing so well toward the end of the season. Baseball is a tough game.

The Redskins were disappointed, then a disappointment. After the fans let the team down at the Steelers game, where Pittsburgh fans outnumbered the locals, the team lost heart and the season was effectively over.

I've switched to the Caps and I'm glad I did. The team is Washington's best hope for a league championship. By far.

OW, you should try hockey. Seriously. With the higher definition sets out now and digital picture quality, seeing the puck on TV is easier than ever. The Caps sell out regularly and Verizon center really comes to life - and loudly. Seeing the game in person is better than ever. And the Caps have a star who is arguably the best player in the game right now, Alex Ovechkin.
