44-6

Up front: The Redskins season was a mess. I had low expectations going in, then high expectations when they were 6-2, only to see them lose game after game for no good reason culminating in the embarrassing loss to the Bengals to effectively get knocked out of the playoffs. And Sunday’s loss to the 49ers was a cherry topping on a lost season sundae.

But still.

The Dallas Cowboys got beaten 44-6.

FORTY-FOUR TO SIX (to a team the disappointing Redskins beat just last week 10-3). I would not be doing my duty as a life-long Washington Redskins fan if I didn’t point to the Cowboys and say two words:

HA! HA!

Our season sucked, but eff Dallas anyway.

ALSO: I should note that if I were a Lions fan I’d probably be considering which skyscraper to jump from today.

As a child of the 70’s, being told over and over that the Cowboys were “America’s Team”, I have grown to loathe them, on a level equal only perhaps to Joe Montana who robbed my Bengals of a Super Bowl win in 89.

I now have someone to root for in the playoffs! GO EAGLES!

  2. Andrew says:

As a native of the Metro Detroit area, I can only marvel at the astonishing joke that is the Detroit Lions. I was in high school with Tom Lewand, the Lions’ COO. I switched schools prior to graduation, so I will never get the pleasure of seeing him at a reunion…

But Lions head coach Marinelli’s “shovel is sharp and his will is outstanding,” so I’m sure they’ll improve next year. There’s absolutely no where to go but up.

I’m kind of glad the Cowboys choked as hard as they did, even though they’re my local team. The soap opera the next few months should be a lot of fun to watch.

I’m definitely with Andrew and liberalrob re: the Lions….

There’s nowhere to go but up…and they’re gonna be spending all off-season in training and watching tapes to find those stairs.

I’m hoping either they can pull their act together as a team, or find someone who can electrify them (as Montana and Young did the Niners, the Manning brothers their respective teams, etc), since it’s just too painful to see an 0-fer team take the field.

Not even the Cubbies or the Indians in their Veeck days were ever this badly off…

If you are a Lions fan, you point to the Dolphins and think about how nice it’ll be to go 10-6 next year!

  6. Randy Brown says:

    Quoth the Ravens:

    “Where’s our title?!”

  7. Syco says:

you guys say that they can’t get any worse but what happens if they manage 2 winless seasons in a row?

I would consider that falling farther.
    you can always get worse
in fact when you think it can’t get worse is when it does.

  8. Parthenon says:

Detroit was 4-0 in the preseason. I know I’m not the only one who finds that kinda funny.

  9. rudy says:

I could never grow tired of seeing the ‘Boys humiliated.
